I guess I'm lucky that I was hungry because then Chase had to stop. I was truly frightened for the first time. I had lost control and I would have given him everything he wanted, no matter what the consequences. I lay there fighting for breath as Chase went to fetch food, my lips stung and felt swollen. My heart pounded so hard in my chest it hurt. I couldn't stop as a single tear raced down my face. This whole situation broke me up inside. When he reentered with food I sat up and thanked him as he placed the tray on my lap. His face glowed with happiness as he gazed at me, I felt horrible. I glanced at the food on the tray and no matter how appetizing it looked, I lost my previous hunger and my stomach withered away. Chase was talking when I looked up but I hadn't heard everything he had said. It sounded like he planned on going snorkelling today. I was definitely in.
I swam under the sea with Chase. He was so close to me that I could feel his side brush mine as I searched for fishes. I saw fish in all colours of the rainbow and then some, I saw the sea bed in the shallowet areas with the crisp looking coral. The whole place seemed peaceful and perfectly balanced. Natural. I felt like I was free of all wory for at least a moment and I could honestly relax. I returned the smile Chase had sent me and I actually meant it for the first time in a while.
