She wants to get better but she forgets herself too often. That's the issue. It doesn't matter who's asking for her help, she'll help them. But the thing, sometimes you just can't help people. Because sometimes helping means giving up some of yourself.
She never sees this though. She simply gives and gives and gives. No one has trouble taking from her. They would though, if they knew what it did to her. Nobody notices, but the little pieces of herself she gives away are crushing her. Almost like what she gives is her air supply and now she's suffocating. Constantly she tells people the comforting words she needs to hear. So often at night she lays awake staring at the ceiling wishing someone would stay with her. You see, she's never been the one to leave. She's one of those people that get left. Everyday she hopes someone will think of her and try to start a conversation. But no one ever does. If she stopped making the first effort, she wouldn't talk to anyone.
Sometimes she just really wishes someone would ask her how she's been, and care about the answer. She is always concerned with how her friends are. Why don't they reciprocate? She even makes an effort to help strangers. It's not just her friends she tries to help. She'll drop anything she's doing to help someone in need. But what if what she's doing is important? Doesn't matter. She'll forget it. She just genuinely wants to help people. But she's one of the people who need help. She will realize one day, that she can help herself. She'll look into the mirror and realize what she's been doing to herself. Her lost eyes are victims of her own thoughts and actions. She'll realize she needs to stop giving all of herself to others. Because those pieces belong to her. They need to stay with her. Looking into her own eyes, one day she'll remember she's important too. In the mirror she'll see someone worth caring about. A girl worth helping. On that day, she'll be better.
