this is what happened
I was a very broken girl
Sad and stupid
Had to remind myself to smile
Then you came along
You lit up my life
You were like sunshine
Your rays warmed me
I was happy
My confidence was once at rock bottom
You brought it up
Soaring toward the sky
I felt amazing
So for you
I fell
I tripped
I stumbled
Into a feeling oh so strong
It's lasted fairly long
But then one day
You were done
Your beautiful sunshine left
It was all clouds after that
Storms and rain
My confidence fell
Right back down
Maybe lower than ever
Then I realized
Your sunshine revealed the truth
And while you're no longer my sun
You're still my sunshine
I'm still the same
I still deserve to soar in the sky
Smiling and laughing
Loving myself
so this is what happened
You came
You changed me
You left
that's how it went
Facts are facts
This story won't change
So thank you
You'll always be my sunshine.
