the madman with the box

The meeting

(Night time. A pinwheel rattles in the overgrown garden of an old house. Two little red-haired Scottish girls are saying their prayers.)

(Bedroom):

AMELIA: "Dear Santa. Thank you for the dolls and pencils and the fish." The oldest of the two began .

Lilliana:"It's Easter now, so I hope we didn't wake you, but honest, it is an emergency."
It was the smaller girls turn to speak .

Lilliana:"There's a crack in our wall. Aunt Sharon says it's just an ordinary crack, but I know it's not, because at night there's voices, so please, please, could you send someone to fix it? Or a policeman. Or-" But suddenly she was interrupted.

(They hear the a weird sound outside, then a crash.)

AMELIA: "Back in a moment"

(She grabs a torch and her sister's hand then looks outside. A strange box has crash-landed on its side, on the garden shed.)

Lilliana: "Thank you, Santa."she says with a smile towards the sky as her sister drags her out their room.

(GARDEN):

(Once the girls make it down to the garden: the door to the big , blue box opens and a soaking wet man clambers out.)

DOCTOR: "Could I have an apple?" Was the first thing he said when he saw the little girls . Who were looking at him with an expression of surprise .

Doctor : "All I can think about. Apples. I love apples. Maybe I'm having a craving? That's new. Never had cravings before." The man says in one big breath .

'This guys weird' - Lilliana thought

(He sits on the edge of the box and looks inside.)

DOCTOR:  "Whoa. Look at that." He said with a hint of surprise.

AMELIA: "Are you okay mister?"she asked , pushing her younger sister behind her to shield her from the man .

DOCTOR: "Just had a fall. All the way down there, right to the library. Hell of a climb back up."he answered confusing the girls even more.

'How is a library going to fit  in there?' - Lilliana thought

AMELIA: "You're soaking wet." The eldest pointed out bringing Lilliana back from her thoughts .

DOCTOR: "I was in the swimming pool"he replied like it was common knowledge.

AMELIA: "You said you were in the library."she said now confused as ever , still hiding her younger sister from the strange man in front of her .

DOCTOR: "So was the swimming pool."

'Okay what is happening here ?Man I am so confused'- Lilliana thought .

AMELIA: "Are you a policeman?"she asked hope filling her and her sister .

DOCTOR: "Why? Did you call a policeman?" He asks wondering what a little girl could want with a policeman.

AMELIA: "Did you come about the crack in our wall?"she again asks hope now filling her completely.

'Oh please , please let him fix the wall'-Lilliana thought

DOCTOR: "Our? What crack? Argh!"The man yells out in pain scaring the youngest pond .

(He falls to the ground.)
