Chapter 6: Grocery Store

I laid in bed, rethinking the day. How could so many things happen all at once? I decided I needed some sleep since I was pretty tired. So I closed my eyes and slept through the night like a baby.

"Aurora" my mom said as she shook me awake.

"whatttt" I said groggily as I dragged out my words since I didn't want to get up.

"Do you want to have a girls day out today? Work gave me a day off!" She said very happily, since she had car keys in one hand, and her other hand resting on her hip.

"Okay let me get ready." I said as I got up, and then proceeded to do my regular routine.

"I'll be in the car! Come down when you're ready"

"Okay!" I yelled loud enough for her to hear, but quiet enough so it wouldn't disturb our neighbors.

What could we possibly do this early in the morning? I was thinking going to the mall when it opened, then going to McDonalds, and lastly going to the park to eat our food. Sounded like a very good plan but once I got in the car with my mom, it seemed like we had a different idea.

"Look honey, I was thinking of going to the grocery store to pick up a few things for the house, and doing a couple more errands. But right after we can do whatever you like!"

"Um okay" I said since this wasn't how I wanted to spend my day. I would've rather just go to school to be honest. I went down with my mom at the grocery store, when someone caught my mother's eye.

"Is that you Irmelin?" My mom said with a shocked expression, and slightly screamed since we caught some of the employees attention.

"Is that you Stacy!" Leos mom said very excitedly.

"Oh my gosh it's been so long! How have you been?" My mom politely asked with now a reason to make us stay longer than we had to at the grocery store.

"I've been doing great! I see you have your daughter Aurora with you, she's very gorgeous. How old is she?" She said while scanning me.

"She's sixteen im pretty sure, she's a sophomore at John Marshall"

"That's wonderful! So is my son Leo! Have you two met before?"

"Yes we have, he's very nice and funny." I said shyly, since I got nervous around elders.

"That's great! You guys should come over to the house more often, we can have dinner and you and Leo will have more time to hang out. How does that sound Stacy? Aurora?" Irmelin very kindly offered. I really hoped my mom would take up the offer since I wanted to get to know Leo's family, and how his room looked like...

"That would be wonderful thank you!" My mom said as we all said our goodbyes and soon paid for our items. I gathered all the items and put them into the grocery bags while splitting the groceries evenly so it wouldn't be too much for one person. My mom opened the trunk and we were soon on the way to our next destination.

"This is so good!" I said with sauce dripping down on the side of my lip.

"It really is, we should get this more often" my mom said while dunking a chicken nugget in her bbq sauce. We ate in silence until my mom asked me a sudden question.

"How's school?"

"It's going good why?"

"No reason. Are you interested in somebody?" She said with a slight pause, then drank some Sprite.

"Yeah I'm actually in a relationship, it happened yesterday. Don't get mad please" I said while I began to have shivers since that's what I also did when I got nervous.

"I'm not mad but who is it?"

"Irmelins son, Leo"

"Oh my gosh really? That's so nice dear!" My mom said cheerfully.

"Thanks mom" I said while eating the rest of my Big Mac with a smile plastered on my face for the rest of the afternoon. Once we were finished with our meal we went back home and took a shower. We went back downstairs and sat on our lazy boys.

"Wanna watch a movie?" My mom said as she reclined her seat.

"Sure what movie?" I said while getting up to make popcorn.

"Hmm let's watch a Bronx Tale" She said while she had her hand on her head in a way that you could tell that she was thinking.

"I love that movie!" I said excitedly while gathering my food for us to ingest.

"That was an amazing movie!" I said while getting up to head to my room.

"Yes it was!" My mom said while getting up to clean our mess.

Once I walked into my room my phone began to ring.

"Hello?" Who could it possibly be?

"Hi" oh it's him.

"Who's this?" I played dumb I just wanted to see who it was.

"It's your boyfrienddd" he said while dragging his words.

"Oh yeah hi"

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing? I'm just saying hi" I was still mad about the previous day, but he didn't know, since that me and Scarlet eavesdropped them, so I had to keep it a secret.

"Um okay. Why weren't you at school today?" He said while his cheerful tone dropped.

"My mom got a day off from work so we went out to do stuff. Oh and we saw your mom so we said hi to her"

"Uh oh what did she say" He chuckled softly.

"Nothing bad, but she offered to let us come to your house to eat dinner and for us to spend more time together. But don't worry she doesn't know about us yet, unless you told her."

"I didn't but if you wanted me to I could."

"I told my mom but if you wanna tell yours you can, I don't really care."

"Okay well um bye" He sadly greeted.

"Bye" I said blankly.

It was already 9:08, so I decided to go to bed since I didn't know what else to do. I shut my eyes and slept shortly after. I hope tomorrow is much better.
