"Wei-Xiong, why did you bring Meng Yao back to life?" was the first question Nie Huaisang asked Wei Wuxian. Wei Wuxian nodded and said, "Because I needed powerful corpses. Fear not, Nie-Xiong, he won't cause trouble. After all, breaking that contract would mean he'd lose the chance to speak with his former sworn brothers."
Nie Huaisang nodded. Jiang Wanyin, who watches from the side, sighs, "We can believe in you. Although it's against the norms, right now, at least be careful whom you revive. I heard from Lan Wangji that you also revived your enemy from Yi City."
"Everything will be fine. I made drastic measures for them not to kill each other. Qingheng-jun can reign them if ever." Wei Wuxian replied. After all, of all the corpses he revived, Qingheng-jun was a special case. Wei Wuxian tow a cart of Emperor's Smile. He had been mulling over the facts set on the fight, if ever they needed to leave even before the crack had allowed passage of unearthly beings. Wei Wuxian felt something warm on his hand. He raised his head and saw Lan Wangji holding his hand as if trying to take the cart from him.
Wei Wuxian happily gave it to him and let his spouse spoil him again. He knew Lan Wangji understood that sooner or later he'd make a decision that could change his entire life.
"Lan Zhan, have you already talked to Qingheng-jun?" Lan Wangji shook his head. He lovingly glanced at Wei Wuxian and said, "To be honest, I don't know how to talk to him."
"Of course, because Lan Qiren became your father from the very beginning, I understand Lan Zhan. But... Qingheng-jun's regret was not telling you and Xichen-ge, 'I'm sorry'. Lan Zhan, will try to give him a chance?" After all, it was his father even if the world turned upside down. "You and Xichen-ge should give yourselves a chance."
Jin Ling stared at Jin Zixuan. Suihua looked perfectly on his own father's waist. He never thought that a day would come for him to meet him. All his life, the father he recognised had always been Jiang Wanyin, more than his biological father. He had mixed feelings about how to talk to him. His heart stammered at the moment, and he could feel his eyes watering.
"My only regret was not coming back home to you." The moment Jin Zixuan said those words. He remembered the stories of the Qiongqi Path. Hearing his own father regret, he couldn't help but ask, "Don't you hate your uncle Wei?" After all, because of him and Wei Wuxian, he died, leaving him all alone all his life
"I never blamed him... Wei Wuxian has always been a kind man... That incident made realized how much I misunderstood him.. I met his fear with impatience hence it cost me my life..." Jin Zixuan smiled, "did you hate him?"
"I used to," Jin Ling honestly replied, "but now I don't."
"Good." Those words rang inside Jin Ling's head. "Never hate Wei Wuxian. Do not hate the man who put your family's above himself. And never ever hate the man who loved you and this family. He lost everything twice; this time, don't make him lose the third. You understand, A-Ling?"
Jin Ling nodded and finally hugged Jin Zixuan. For a grown man like him to act like a kid, people might make fun of him. However, he could care less about what everyone would tell him.
"A-Die..."
"You've grown to become a fine man, A-Ling."
The warmth, the same thing he never thought he'd experience—Is here by his side for once.
Nie Mingjue stood infront of Nie Huaisang. The latter after talking to Wei Wuxian was hesitant to face his brother once again. He planned everything to drag Meng Yao down and to see his brother standing beside that man again pains him. He had been aline for years. He never once tried finding a partner and even thought of retiring and pass leadership to his cousin. Yet, to see this man again, made him want to continue and show himself how he turned out to be.
