Grian's POV

I wake up, panting. 'What. What happened?' I asked myself. Then it all came flooding back. The events, what I had said, done. The way I had acted. I sit against the bed as tears flooded my eyes. I draw my knees towards my chest as the tears welled over. Hugging them, I let the tears fall.

I sit there and cry, I don't know how long it was until I heard a noise at my door. I look up only to see the one person I wished not to see. I know that after what happened, I've lost him. My best friend gone. More and more tears fell down my cheeks as I look back down. I feel his eyes still looking at me. I couldn't breathe due to all the crying and his piercing stare on me.

I feel the bed dip next to me. He's sat down. There's no escaping now. I keep my head down as a hand was placed on my shoulder. "Hey." I hear him say, "Why are you crying?" His voice hints concern as I look up. His dark hair, tan skin and green eyes all there as I remembered it.

"Gri?" I nod, "Are you mad at me?" I frantically shake my head "Why -why would I-I be mad at-at you?" "I mean I was really stupid to not notice you where my soulmate and-" I cut him off by hugging him. More tears flow down my cheeks. "Scar" I whisper. "Yeah" He replies, holding me close.

"I-I thought I-I l-lost you?" "What do you mean 'lost me'. You know I would never leave you. I depend you more than anyone." "Bu- but I shouted at you. I-I be-betrayed you?" "No. No you didn't Gri. I'm not holding anything against you. You where stressed and under pressure and I'm sure the last thing you needed to deal with is me." He chuckled at the end.

I cry more as Scar sits and comforts me. Slowly moving his hand through my hair as I eventually calm down. He tells me not to worry over and over again. Even mentioning how I helped him in the first session of these games. How I gave him my first life but ended up staying till the very end.

But when I tried to mention how I took the win he told how it was up to him and I deserved it. It didn't matter how much I tried to refuse what he was saying I couldn't win. I gave in as I huddled towards him;

"I thought I lost you"

"No. I could never leave"
