Chapter 02

You slowly walk to your room away from your dad after his harsh words. Keeping all things aside, you get ready and leave to your office.

In the meantime, your dad had his plans. He didn't spill those words out of anger, at least this time. He meant it when he said he wants you to get married. He meant it when he said he wants his son-in-law to take care of his business. He really wanted that to happen. But, one thing is on his mind, who should be the one? Of course, he's not ready to get you married to someone who isn't capable of keeping the reputation of Benjamin Group. Already, Benjamin Group is the 2nd best company in the country. He doesn't want to lose that. He acknowledges that you have a major part in making it to the Top 2, but still, your dad never said that.

While he is busy with his thoughts, someone strikes his mind. The one he is searching for. Who he feels is the capable one for taking care of his business. Who he feels is the one who could be his son-in-law. It's none other than Jeon Jungkook. The son of his best friend, Mr.Jeon. The only heir of Jeon Group of Industries, which is the 1st best company in the country.

Mr. Jeon and William started in the same way. Both of them growing from nothing to one of the most successful companies in the country. They met at a business party during the initial days after William and Claura got separated. William and Mr. Jeon became close immediately. From sharing business ideas to sharing personal lives. William is impressed with Jeon Jungkook the day Mr.Jeon introduced him, when jungkook was 11 years old. Jungkook has been an ace since childhood, be it studies or anything, he always stands first. Jungkook is one of the main reasons why Jeon Group of Industries is the 1st best in the country.

Your dad immediately pulled out his phone to call his friend, Mr. Jeon.

William: Hello, Jeon. How are you doing?

Mr.Jeon: Hello, Will. I am doing great. Glad that you've called me. I thought you've forgot you have a friend named Jeon.(chuckling)

William: Haha, I'm just a bit busy with all the business things. I need not tell the owners of the 1st best company in the country how complicated business will be, do I?

Mr. Jeon : (laughing)You never change, Will.

William: Coming to the point, I have proposal. It's not a compulsion but we can go ahead only if you are okay.

Mr. Jeon : Tell me what's bothering you.

William: It's about Y/N. I want her to get married to someone who can take of my business and I think Jungkook fits perfectly for that.

Mr. Jeon: Are you serious? I don't understand, Will. Why giving it to your son-in-law when Y/N is capable of handling your business. I mean just look at her, she brought Benjamin group to Top 2. If she works hard, she can even bring it to Top 1. I really am proud of her.

William: (silence for a bit) uh, I have my reasons Jeon. I gave it a thought and this is the best decision I can take.

Mr. Jeon : Okay, Will. She's your daughter. I know you make the best decisions for her. I am okay with the proposal, but I need to talk to Jungkook before making any decision. Maybe we can arrange a meeting and let our children talk to take the decision. what do you think, will?

William: Sounds good to me. I'll make an appointment at a hotel today so that they can meet. I'll text the details.

Mr. Jeon: Great, I'll inform Jungkook then.

William : Ok, Jeon. Bye

It's 5pm. Today is another busy day of your life. Your today's schedule is completely packed. You had attended many business meetings, took care of many other things, still, you have many more to go. As you were getting ready for your next meeting, your secretary, Miss Lily, knocked on your door. You allowed her in.

" Miss Y/N, the other meetings for today have been canceled. Mr. William had scheduled an important appointment for you at 7 pm today. You are supposed to leave now, "revealed your secretary.

What's more important than business to dad? is the first question that raises in your head. Your dad is aware of all your day to day schedule. In fact, he is the one who orders the secretaries to keep it that way. Work is your dad's first priority. The upcoming business meetings that you are yet to attend are the most important deals to make for the growth of your company. The fact that he made an appointment on top of that seems strange to you. What could be more important than that?

"Miss Lily, The upcoming meetings are with Jay Group and Choi Group of Industries. Can you remind him of that, please?" You uttered, coming to a conclusion that he might've forgotten about the meetings with them.

"Mr. William is aware of that, Miss Y/N. He even talked to them about rescheduling the calls, and they were okay with it, " told your secretary.

It seemed strange. But you just nodded and started moving out of your office after packing your things. Your dad is waiting for you by the time you reach your home. You quickly march towards your room after uttering a simple hi to your dad.

6:30pm

You and your dad got into the car, after giving driver the address. You are informed that it is not a professional meeting. You are not aware of what it is going to be about. But, you understood it's something important. Something important for your dad. There is complete silence in the car on your way to the hotel. You dressed yourself simple. A Red midi dress with a jacket seemed good to you.

By the time you reached the hotel and started moving towards the table your dad had booked, you already saw someone sitting across the table. You are able to see Mr. Jeon, smiling and waving at you, as he is sitting across the table facing by your side. You smile at him while moving towards the table, but you can see someone else sitting opposite to him. You are able to see his back but not his face from your view. By the time you reached the table, your smile faded when that person stood to greet your dad with a hug.

Look at you, how handsome you've become, my boy always makes us proud, your dad uttered while smiling and hugging the person who you hated the most since you've known him.

It's him. It's Mr. Jeon Jungkook.
