One - Birthday gone wrong

“Happy birthday, princess”My family said in unison and I smiled in return“Thanks”I looked over at my twin sis to see her smiling “Happy birthday Eileen” and she smiled“I wish you the same”

Finally, I'm 18 today. I can't wait for my friends to come over. My parents are throwing a party for us.“ Make a wish”Mom said with a cake in front of me with a candle on it and I nodded. After making a wish,I blew the candle and they all cheered.“ We'll leave you two for a while. We have to take care of some things”and they exit the room and I looked at Eileen “So what's up?”

“What was your wish?”She asked and I chuckled “Why do you ask?”and she replied “just curious”and I sighed “Ok. My wish was for the party to go smoothly and I should have a nice score for the test we just wrote”and she burst out laughing “what?”I asked confusingly “It's nothing. Do you know what my wish was?Can you guess?”she asked with a raised eyebrow“Oh come on, Eileen. You know I'm not good at guessing so why don't you spare me?”

“Ok. My wish was for you to break up with Tommy”and my eyes widened in shock“ Are you being serious right now?” She didn't give me a reply but changed the topic “Eunice said she wouldn't be able to make it to our birthday party cause she'll be attending her aunt's wedding”and I nodded in confirmation “She told me” “Ok. Why don't you get your ass off the bed. Our family is here”She emphasize on the word 'family' and a small oh left my mouth. She walked away but stopped in her tracks when I asked“So, what are you gonna do?”and she replied“Same thing you're gonna do”and she walked out

Eileen had always been my best friend and a good sister though she hates my boyfriend, Tommy. I don't know why but I didn't let that ruin our relationship. My dad is also a twin but their relationship got ruined one time because of a woman but they're now ok thanks to the love of their lives.
Tommy is the captain of the football team so he's pretty popular. Eunice,a friend of mine likes him unlike Eileen and Scarlet. They keep saying he's not good for me including dad. We started dating when I was seventeen. We were all friends then suddenly he asked me out and I couldn't say no and that's when everything started. I know Tom loves me but I can't say the same for myself but I do know he's not just a friend to me.

After some hours,my door opened revealing Eileen with Aunt Meredith behind her with a smile plastered on her face. She engulfed me in a big hug and I hugged her back “Happy birthday princess”and I smiled “Thank you. Did you just arrive?”and she nodded and said “Thank goodness I'm not too late so let's get you both dressed and after I'm done with you, you won't recognize yourself anymore”and Eileen and I chuckled
If there's one thing Aunt Meredith is good at, it's fashion and she's pretty good at it. She started with Eileen while I watched her.
After she was done with us, My mouth hung open in shock. She was right. I really couldn't recognize myself “Am I dreaming right now?I look fabulous, gorgeous, beautiful... There's no better adjective to describe this. Thanks auntie”Eileen said with a wide smile on her face and I added “This is the perfect gift ever. Tommy would be so surprised at my appearance and Eileen gave me the what the fuck look while I stuck my tongue out to her and aunt looked between the both of us “Okay, what are you guys not telling me? Who's Tommy?”she asked and I cleared my throat “He's just a friend” I lied“He's Aileen boyfriend” and she looked at me like I've grown ten heads“You already have a boyfriend? Really?At your age?”and I retorted “In what law was it written that one must be in a relationship when he/she is up to 20?”I asked “What the fuck!”Aunt exclaimed

“Don't use the 'f' word on my beautiful daughters”mom said and Aunt Meredith explained everything to her. My parents knew about it already“Don't mind her. It's not gonna last anyway. Let's go, the guests are waiting”Mom said and walked out while we followed her.
“Happy birthday”Scarlet,my closest friend said with a smile and I thanked her. Austin,my cousin also wished us a happy birthday “Hey”I heard the voice that always brought a smile to my face. I turned to see Tommy with a bouquet of flowers.“ Hey”I said with a smile “Happy birthday”and I thanked him too.
“You too Eileen”He said to her and she scoffed while Scarlet rolled her eyes and they both walked away“Oh, I get that a lot”He stated while I gave him a peck on the lips and he smiled and kissed my forehead“I'm finally an adult”and he chuckled. I smelt the flowers he gave me“Hmm,nice smell”I smiled lovingly at him and he handed me a small box“Your gift. Hope you like it”and I chuckled “You know I always like everything you give me”.

I wanted to open it but he stopped me and told me to do that when he's away and I gave a slight nod. I excused myself and walked up to Scarlet and my twin
“Gosh,it feels so good to drink in the public without anyone scolding you”I hear Eileen say and I cleared my throat “Can I ask a favor? Please,can you stop acting like that when you're around Tom?It makes him feel uncomfortable”and scar replied “Like I care”and I released a deep breath “Please. See it as my birthday gift”and Eileen looked at me “fine”and I smiled. I turned my attention to Scarlet who was smiling at something or someone.

“Hey”I snapped my finger at her and she turned to me while I turned around hoping to find the source of her smile but found nothing. “Who were you smiling at?”Eileen asked the question on my mind. She looked between the both of us and shook her head “Nothing. I'm just happy. Is that a crime?”

Everyone gave us our gifts. It was so many and most of them told me to open it when they're away. I opened Scarlet gift and she didn't stop me. It was a Rolex watch. “Thanks Scar. I'm very grateful”I said with a smile and she winked “I know your taste. It's no big deal”.
Eileen opened hers and it was a set of jewellery. Rings, necklace, earrings and so on. “Thanks”She appreciated and she told her it's no big deal

The party went on smoothly. I met my entire family. They're so fucking many.“ Hey, Happy birthday twins”Austin,my cousin and also Dad's twin brother son “Thanks”Eileen and I said in unison while he walked away and Eileen asked him raising her voice “Where's our gift,you dumbass”and he turned to look at us “My love for you is enough gift right?”and we both scoffed while he walked away to meet his parents.I couldn't find Tommy so I asked Eileen “Did you see Tom?”and she sighed “No and why should i care?” “Eileen”I warned. “Speaking of missing persons, where's Scarlet?”. She's not here too. A school mate came to wish us a happy birthday and we asked her if she saw Tom. “I saw him walking over there”and we thanked her. “What's your lover doing in the balcony?”she asked “Don't know. Let's take a look”and Eileen added “Bet he's having a smoke”and I gagged “My Tom doesn't smoke”I said as we walked over there

We opened the door when we got there and I was shocked with the sight before us while Eileen gasped“What in the world...”.
I was speechless. I didn't know what to say or do. Behold was my boyfriend kissing my closest friend. “I can explain”Tom said. I didn't know what to tell him then Eileen assisted me “What can you explain,you motherfucker?The sight before us already explained everything. How dare you do this to my sister. I never liked you from the beginning cause I knew you were not to be trusted. My sister is not in the state for arguing with you so...”Eileen slapped him right across the face then walked up to Scarlet. “You. Who would have thought....I....Gosh, I'm tongue tied. You always told us you hated Tom and now you're about to have sex with him. Aren't you ashamed?Was she ever your friend?I guess not. We don't want to see your face ever again so pack your shit and get out”She said in anger and walked to me and whispered in my ear “Let's go”.
“Just give me a chance to explain, please”Tom said and I nodded giving him a go ahead signal “Tell me the reason you were kissing my friend in my house. My birthday party”I said bitterly “I'm sorry. She seduced me and I didn't know how I fell for it but I still love you. I don't want to lose you just yet”Just yet?I slapped him right in the face so hard.“ Just yet? You're so crazy. If only I listened to my sister. I don't want to see your face ever again,you animal. And you Scarlet, you're a disgrace to womanhood. I hate you so fucking much. You always pretended that Tom was a nutcase but in reality you've always liked him”I said with tears rolling down my cheeks. Scarlet didn't say anything but kept looking at me in the eye and I could see a glint of happiness in her eyes. Holy fuck.“ Let's get out of here”. I walked into the party and screamed “The party's over. Just go home”I ran to my room, locked the door, jumped on my bed and started crying then I heard a knock on the door “Just go away” “It's me, Eileen”and I told her to come in. She sat on the bed with me and started“Hey,are you still crying?For that asshole? Just stop it. You know what?I feel like killing Scar right now. She's not even feeling remorseful like she's happy it finally came out. She told me in my face that they've been doing it for months. Seriously? With anger,I used the gift she gave to us and threw it to her right in the face and it hit her nose”and I laughed and she continued “What I'm trying to say is that,Tom doesn't deserve your tears. You are too good for him so wipe your tears”.

I wiped my tears and nodded “You're right. He doesn't deserve my tears”and she gave me a small smile while I continued “Guess your wish came true”and she laughed
