Aileen pov

I skipped lessons for the rest of the day and went home.

I knew my parents would be at their workplace so I went home. I'm exhausted and that stupid guy made it worse. Where the hell did he come from?

Some hours later

I woke up to the doing of my phone ringing. I checked the caller id and answered the call.

Aileen: What do you want?
Eileen:Where the fuck are you?I didn't see you in class.
Aileen:Too bad. I'm home and in bed having a good rest.(muffles laugh)
Eileen: You gat to be kidding me right now. I've waited for hours,you dumbass
Aileen: Sorry and bye.

I hanged up and sighed then I heard a voice saying "She's home?"and my eyes widened. Mom's back!

I stood up looking for a place to hide. Maybe lock myself in the bathroom?No, that's a bad idea 'cause she has the damn key. Maybe in the closet?No, she's quite scary. She may,no,she will spend the night in my room making sure I never come out so the perfect solution is apologize.

The door opened revealing my mom."Hey,mom.I felt sick so I left school early.I hope that won't be a problem, right?"and she looked at me trying to see if I'm lying."So, your result..."and I laughed awkwardly "Yeah,mom. I can't even believe that's mine. It's..."and she sighed "You still haven't come up with an excuse?"and I kept quiet and looked down.

"Look,I just want you to improve on your studies. You don't need to be the best and you shouldn't be the worst either"She said calmly.
"But I'm not the worst. I'm still better than some"I muttered
"No allowance for you"She said and my eyes widened. She didn't just say that."What..."

"That's my decision. I already talked to your dad and he supports me. Improve and everything will be just fine"she said to me and I was speechless. I couldn't say anything. This cannot be happening. No, it just can't be."Mom, I'm sorry, okay? I'll improve. I promise, I'll even find a tutor so please..."
"I've been hearing that from you for some time now"and I released a deep breath
"Just this month, right?"I asked and she shook her head"No,till I see your next result to know if you improved" and that's like three or four months away and...

I'm screwed.

Daniel pov

I went to Abby class to pick her up. She ran into my arms when she saw me and I hugged her with a smile. "How was school? Sorry I didn't come by during lunch break. I had a little problem to take care of"and she gave a short nod"It's ok.I had a lot of fun too"and I grinned. Abby had always been my everything. Everytime I see her,I can't help but smile."You made a lot of friends, right?"I asked "Yes but most of them are kinda rude but I can tolerate them."and I laughed
"I'm sorry Abby"and she seemed confused"For what, Dan?"
"For being the reason we transferred..."and she cut me off"It's okay even if you won't tell me the reason"

I took her hand in mine and carried her backpack."Let's go see mom"and her eyes lit up"Really?"she asked"Really"I replied.

When we got to the hospital,we went to her ward. As usual,her eyes were closed. She was still unconscious. We both sat by her side. "We're here mom. I'm here with Abby. She always wanted to see you"I said even if she wasn't listening and Abby held her hand and started crying.

I never liked coming here. The sight of sick patients, the smell of drugs,it digust me.
And every single time I come here,I try so hard not to let my tears flow. My mom's been hospitalized since God knows when and I don't know when she's gonna wake up. She's suffering from cancer and it's been hard for me. I then had the responsibility to take care of Abby and myself too.
My father abandoned us. Abby doesn't even know how he looks like and I don't give a damn anyway."Aren't you going to say anything?"She asked.
"Are you done?"I asked and she nodded."Let's go"I grabbed her hand and walked out of the room to see the doctor. He informed me that they have no idea when she'll regain consciousness and that her health is deteriorating and they may have to carry out an operation.

After dropping off Abby at my neighbor place,I went to see Josh. "Hey, it's been long. Heard you got transferred" He said with a smile and I gave a short nod

"Yeah, thanks to your drugs"I said and he chuckled.

"You got caught. You weren't careful enough. So why are you here?"He asks

"I think my mom is gonna need an operation"I said and he gave me a surprised look."Again?"He asks like he couldn't believe me

I ignored his question and ask"Is there any operation tonight?I need money" I stated

He laughed"I thought you won't work for me anymore. Guess I underestimated you."

Josh has always been my financial aid. Well, let's just say,he pays me for the illegal jobs I do for him. He's in his mid 40s and still single. He has a private organization which I guess isn't legal either.

"Well, let's go the ring tonight. The winner gets a lot of money"He said staring at me.

"You sure about that?"I asked
"Don't you trust me? Come on"He said walking away and I followed suit.

Eileen pov

I went to the dining table to eat with my parents but Aileen was absent. Is she still upset?

"Where's Aileen?"Mom asks

"Don't know. In her room,I guess"I said sitting opposite Dad

I turned my attention to Dad and ask"Did you really mean what you said?No allowance for Aile..."He cut me off saying"Yeah,her performance in school isn't impressive at all"and my mouth formed an 'O'

The next day

Aileen pov

I need to find a tutor especially for English and maybe math. Gosh, this is exhausting.

"Here"I turned to the voice and saw Eileen. She handed me a hamburger which I took from her.

"Thanks,sis"I said and took a bite. She's quite caring.
"Do you need me?As a tutor?"She asks and I immediately rejected.

"Hell no. I can never learn from you. I need someone else. Someone intelligent than you"I said walking straight to my locker and she trailed along.
"At least, you acknowledged the fact that I'm intelligent. So who's that someone?"She asks but I shook my head. I don't know yet.

We had English class together so we sat next to one another."Hey, twins"Eunice said sitting in front of us."Hey, there"I said to her and she observed my face. "What is it?"I ask

"Did something happen to you?You look kinda pale. One would think you're suffering from a heartbreak"She said and Eileen gave her a reply"She just broke up with someone,duh".

"Last time I checked,I wasn't talking to you"and I just smiled

"Geez, enough"I said and they both rolled their eyes then I noticed that guy entering the class and I mentally rolled my eyes. That fucking asshole.

"Do you know him personally?"Eunice asks. Shit,i said it out loud. I cleared my throat and replied"Well, not personally but we had an encounter and he got on my nerves. No more questions."I said closing the topic then class started.

Some questions were asked during class and guess who answered most of them?

"He's quite intelligent,I may say"Eileen said and Eunice nodded and I smirked.

"Eileen,I think I've found that someone"I said and looked at him writing something down and Eileen followed my eyes and I guess it hit her.

And she screamed.

"Hell no"
