"Scarlett!", Blaze yelled.

Blaze grabbed Scarlett quickly in his arms and held her tight but it was too late. They had both fallen on the ground unconsciously and the woman scowled at them before disappearing.

Two hours later

"Argh...what the hell.", Blaze mumbled under his breath as he looked at his surroundings He quickly checked on Scarlett to see if she was okay but she was knocked out cold.

"Hey...Scarlett...wake up.", Blaze called out as he nudged her but she didn't move.

Blaze then tried to use his powers shutting his eyes tightly to listen to her breathing but he couldn't hear anything.

"What the hell...", Blaze's voice trailed off as he looked closely at her to see her chest heaving up and down.

Scarlett let out a sigh as she stretched her body. She opened the curtains and the windows to get in fresh air after the room was stuffy. The sunlight shone brightly on her eyes causing her body to feel a burning sensation and he eyes began to hurt which led to a migraine. She quickly closed the curtains and felt a wave of relief upon her instantly.

"Huh...that's strange...", Scarlett whispered under her breath softly.

Scarlett walked on the streets with a different attitude as she dressed for revenge. She wore black sunglasses with a charcoal black suit and a white button-up shirt. Heads began to turn and he held hers high. Scarlett finally reached her destination with a devious smirk, her workplace.

"Where the hell is Scarlett?!", Clarence roared out.

"Sir, you gave her  story to Jade again... so she resigned.", Amber answered, emphasizing the word her.

"Look, Angler..."

"It's Amber sir."

"Whatever, Angler. Scarlett would never have had any of her stories without her."

"She's the one who had done research and had her story in order.", Jason joined in.

"Well...I guess so, but you don't have to worry about a thing.", Clarence spoke in a softer tone.

"I guess so.", Scarlett stated before revealing herself by taking off her glasses.

People gasped in shock as she looked different Scarlett began to hear their voices even though their lips did not move but she decided to brush it away.

"Scarlett! Where have you been? You're late for work again. Get a better story before I fire you!", Clarence yelled at Scarlett.

Scarlett chuckled softly as she looked down on the ground briefly. When she finally looked up at Clarence, her facial expression changed as she wore a poker face.

"I quit.", Scarlett stated as she threw her letter of resignation on her desk and raised her eyebrows an inch. "I'm just here to pick up my stuff.", she stated as she walked over to her desk and began to pack up her office necessities.

"This is some kind of sick, right?", Clarence scoffed.

"No, this is not. You know...You have put me down for long enough and I am tired of working for such a sick snob as you. You would just give my hard work and hard-earned stories to Jade. You never appreciate anything that anyone in this team does for you. You are as useless as the 'G' in Lasagna!", Scarlett exclaimed.

Clarence laughed dry and embarassedly, "There's no need to be so sarcastic now Scarlett. Clarence walked to her.

"I'll stop being so sarcastic the day that you go and buy yourself a better ego because I can see that it is already inflated.", Scarlett said as her eyes had a light red glow in her eyes that was barely visible.

Scarlett was about to lift up the box of her stuff until Jason took it from her hands and gave her an understanding look. They began to walk out after she told Amber she would call her later.

"You can not leave this company! You will have nowhere else to go to! You owe this to me.", Clarence

Scarlett soon stopped in her tracks and scoffed.

"I owe nothing to you.", she said without turning back.

Meanwhile

"Damn it!", Blaze yelled as he threw a vase across the room.

"What's wrong, Mr. Griffin?", his assistant asked, rushing into his office after knocking on his door.

"Get someone to clean this up! And call my sister...", Blaze's voice trailed off.

(Did I really lose my powers to something much different?), Blaze thought as he looked at his hands that was glowing blue.
