"Its delicate"
Clydeth was many times nervous before, and it was either her mother caught on her lie or in an oral recitation, but never meeting someone. Unless it was a queen. A queen who had fought a battle with swords. Now, that is cool, but that makes her scary. A woman with a sword is scary enough to meet, add the title of a queen into the mix. Makes Clydeth nervous, and believes that this is all just a dream, and is probably in her aunt's home, suffering through a nightmare.
Oh, how she wished this is all a dream.
But, yes, unfortunately, it isn't.
From the corner of her eye, she saw a knight who was carrying a spear that shine when hit by the sunlight, and when the knight saw that he slam his spear to the ground; creating a sound that sounds like thunder. Rufus and her visibly jumped from their seat.
Poor Rufus was about to drink his cup of tea, then the interruption happened, now he is scarred for his life—and the girl beside him.
The queen laugh in amusement. "Oh, please, do not scare them Spades. They're fragile and delicate."
'Spades?' She thought.
Clydeth began asking, and each is full of curiosity. "Spades? Like, King of Spades? From deck cards?"
"Pardon? 'Cards' ?"
With that said from the queen, Rufus elbowed her, as if stopping her from speaking more. Which, Clydeth gets and gulped her own saliva.
"They...they're nothing, Your Majesty. Forgive thy tongue of this lady."
"Oh please, just call me Anny." The queen said, putting her pale hand to her chest.
"Queen Anny." Spades said, emphasizing who she was referring to. As if not letting her forget who she was speaking to.
"If you'd be so kind, Spades, grab some deserts from the kitchens for our," The queen passed and look at both Clydeth and Rufus, "guest."
"As you wish, my queen." He bowed and left them in the garden of tulips, leaving them to bathe in silence.
Both Rufus and Clydeth was relieve to see him left, less stress for their hearts.
"He does look so scary, doesn't he?" Both of them nodded. "But he's actually nice, he is rocky on the outside, but soft on the inside."
"Ah, yes, he is your majesty." Rufus agreeing to the queen, as he had no choice.
"Its really nice, you know? Have this peace for a long time to myself, without worrying some borders to be broken by some rebels, and talk to someone who look like my age! How lucky I am." The queen sipped her tea.
Clydeth noticed how pale she is, that somehow made her dark purple hair stands out.
"Now, tell me, what is your name?" By the sound of the queen's voice, she slightly jump from her seat, as if a thief caught stealing. Clydeth still don't know if she was allowed to speak, as she still feels the pain from her side.
"Uh.."
"Her name is, Clydeth, your royal highness." It was Rufus who answered for her, not that she mind.
The queen smiled before asking another question, which was answered again by Rufus.
"How old are you?"
"Sixteen, your royal highness."
"What is your favorite fruit?"
"Strawberry, your royal highness. I can still remember how she cried when she was young, just because I didn't bring her strawberries." Then Rufus let out an awkward laugh, that Clydeth awkwardly joined. To convince the queen. The said woman remained silent.
