Chapter Eight 

follow gale

3rd person pov 

the next morning they all sat outside together in the ambulance. Dakota leaned against tara as they sat next to each other and Mindy sat there next to them. Dakota held Mindy when she found out about Anika because she didn't know what else to do. When everything happened back in Woodboro, she remembered losing her girlfriend taylor, and it was the worst thing that could've ever happened to her. So now she understood how Mindy was feeling and she could help her in some sort of way.

"is this how you felt when you lost Taylor?" mindy asked her and dakota nodded. she felt tara put her hand on her shoulder and she looked at her sadly.

"partly when I lost Taylor, I was scared and confused and I spent a lot of time missing her but overtime I stopped to miss her and right now it hurts and yeah, this is how I felt about taylor. I was lost and confused and scared so I get it Mindy I really do" she told her and Mindy nodded sadly as she laid her head on dakotas shoulder and dakota laid her head on hers. then they saw ethan coming near them making chad slam him up against the car and dakota looked at mindy in fear. she held taras hand and watched. 

"where were you?" chad asked him 

"what, when?" ethan asked 

"last night" chad forced 

"I had econ, you know this" ethan tried 

"bullshit man, you disappear and my sister almost gets killed" chad exclaimed and dakota looked at mindy who looked at the ground and she rubbed her shoulder. 

"dude, I was in study hall with 100 other people you can ask any of them" ethan reasoned 

"fuck,man" chad said and he let him go, that's when ethan noticed the dead body laying there and he turned to it 

"oh my god. Who is that?" he asked 

"Anika and Quinn" chad stated and dakota looked at ethan as he walked over to them 

"mindy, I'm so sorry" he told her 

"step the fuck back. you're at the top of my list" she told him and dakota sighed as he looked at her trying to get her help but she hardly knows the guy. Why would she help him? 

"I had Econ!" he fought and dakota nodded even though she didn't believe him 

"I'm gonna be right back" tara told them as she got up and walked over to sam and detective bailey. dakota watched them in sadness as he cried and they watched. chad looked at dakota and then at mindy with sadness in his eyes. the fact that they were bonding over this hurt him but also made him feel slightly happy that they had each other. 

"is that gale weathers?" ethan said and dakota looked at him 

"that's what you're worried about? Ethan people died, and you're worried about Gale Weathers. And yes, it is her she gets involved in every single one of these things. Ever since everything happened in Woodsboro back when she was a teenager now she worries about people. So yes, that's Gale Weathers but I'm not really sure that's what you should be caring about right now" she stated and he stared at her. 

"Dakota what are we gonna do? They can't stay here Ghostface knows where they live." mindy told her and she nodded 

"yeah, I know that" she stated and then she heard footsteps making her look up and see emily standing there. 

"Emily? What are you doing here?" dakota asked 

"they called me because they wanted to know if I was there with you guys and then they told me that I needed to come down here because I'm your roommate. Are you OK? I know that you thought that this wouldn't happen since you moved here, but this is bad." emily said and dakota nodded as she moved over and emily sat down 

"I didn't think that it wouldn't happen ever since everything happened in Woodsboro. I knew that wherever we went, something would happen with us whether that was being harassed or chased or murdered. When things like that, happened to people, and it becomes public to the world and we become victims or murderers, we can't run from it anymore and I realize that. and this is bad but it's always been bad. The only difference is now I'm involved." she exclaimed and chad nodded 

"everything that happened in Woodsboro last year was pretty bad, but everything with Sydney, and all the other killers was somehow worse. But now it makes it way worse because we're in New York City where anyone could be the killer and we have no idea" chad explained and emily nodded 

"do you have a plan or you just trying to figure out what to do right now?" emily asked and ethan looked at her. dakota and Mindy saw the way he looked at her and they didn't like it. 

" well, as of right now, we're just trying to figure out how to survive because we just saw two of her friends die but I think we're gonna have a plan soon enough" dakota said 

"how do you know that you're gonna have a plan?" emily asked and dakota pointed her head to gale and they all turned to her. she was now standing with tara, sam and kirby. it was now clear that  a plan was being formed whether this group was involved or not, and they would just have to go with it. 

When things like this happen, you go about it not normally because you're scared that you're gonna die and that's what they were doing. that's what they were going to do 

now they just had to follow gale
