Lutessa Laney, victor of the 66th Hunger Games, goes back into the Games when Snow decides for the Quarter Quell and previous victors are to be reaped. She knows it's a trap, but she doesn't know for whom seeing as she's rebelled against the capitol...
The Laney family had two victors related to them, Malcom Combs, and his granddaughter Alexandria. The 66th Hunger Games was thereupon Panem, and the worst part of surviving the Hunger Games was the damage it did to someone mentally and sometimes physically. It left both Malcom and Alexandria with problems, now it's about to strike again.
Lutessa Laney now must face the challenges of the Hunger Games, and now she must bear the burden of having to do unspeakable things, to survive. The odds against her with the fact District ten hasn't gotten a victor in nearly twenty years. Every year, the people of District Ten watch their sons and daughters slaughtered. Everyone hopes that one day, someone can live to tell the tale and sing their songs of sorrow while making those who hurt them feel pain like none other.
