The necklace (though it was more like a locket, but Papyrus insisted that it wasn't), was proudly wrapped around my neck.

* Papyrus has accepted you as his family.

We were on the way back to Grillby's to check on the pie, but it should be fine since the timer hasn't rung yet right?

(The pie cursed him from the burning oven... somehow..)

Papyrus was thinking up and shooting out names rapidly at me, trying to find the right name that I liked and also made sense to have. It was harder than it sounded, really.

"OH! How about Nayat? Or, or Will? Firn? Stin?..."

I shook my head to all of those, frowning. They all sounded cool, but it didn't seem to click right.

"Hmm..."

Both of us fell into a thinking stance.

Since I lived two lives, how about something that means two people..? Gemini (no), Emer (no). Two people, Two lives, Two sides, double sides, double.. sided..?

Papyrus looked at me curious as I thought of something.

"What is it brother? Did you find a good name for yourself?"

I grinned and dipped my head once in affirmation.

I crouched down to write the letters in the snow.

"X. I. P. H. O. S.? Xiphos?"

I smiled up at him at the mention of my new name.

"That is.. a cooler name than I could have thought of! Good job brother!"

Papyrus exclaimed with a grin matching mine. Then he paused.

"Err... what does it mean anyway?"

I made hand motions for Papyrus to guess as I tried giving hints.

"Umm, something about being split?"

I shook my head.

"No? Hmm.. how about.. having, two of something?"

I gave a thumbs up.

"Yes? Nyeh! Umm.. a triangle? No.."

We were walking slow, occasionally using the snow as writing material (which it wasn't because it crumbles too easily).

As we made it in front of Grillby's, Papyrus guessed the meaning.

"A.. double sided.. dagger?"

I nodded my head with an excited expression as I took my daggers out in show. Papyrus laughed.

"Nyeh heh heh, that makes more sense! You love using your daggers, and it has a deep meaning to it! It fits you brother."

I let out an airy giggle after I put away my weapons back in my pockets, hands fidgeting with the helm of my jacket.

I was about to open the door to Grillby's, when suddenly we heard a rustle from the other side of the street. Our conversation stopped immediately there, which made me feel sad, but I convinced myself that we could always talk later.

I stared towards the entrance of the forest. I took my daggers out again, this time for possible combat, and got in a fighting stance.

No one is supposed to be alive other than me, so hearing an organic sound was strange. Friend or foe, it can be either, but it's not like I'm looking for an enemy right now when I'm happy.

I glanced at Papyrus and he looked a bit anxious. I waved to get his attention and smiled in reassurance. We'll be fine.

Papyrus looked more confident and secure after that.

Looking away from my brother, I looked towards the ominous looking forest again. First we needed to investigate what caused the rustling.

In the corner of Snowdin forest, three figures in bright clothing fell out of a portal and stacked onto each other in the snow.

One was a skeleton wearing yellow and seemed to be somewhat glowing. The next was a skeleton wearing a brown sash and scarf and looked to be an artist. The last was also a skeleton, wearing a blue bandana and boots, but unlike the two others, he seemed to be the only normal looking one of the group.

The yellow skeleton woke up and shivered, as did his blue companion.

"Wow, that was a ride." The artist's skeleton only looked around excitedly, as if the cold didn't bother him even a bit.

"Never knew trying to enter an AU on the far side of the orbit would take this long! The AU probably had a bunch of RESETs stacked up already!"

The yellow one looked concerned.

"Would we still be able to help the resident that projected their negativity Ink?" he asked the artist.

"Of course we can Dream! We just gotta find them first! C'mon Dream, Blue!"

The artist, named Ink, then motioned his friends to follow him as he skipped away in something that can be described as a mash of joy, curiosity, and awe.

Seeing the carelessness of Ink, he panicked and ran after Ink to stop him from doing anything that could mess their measly plan up.

Behind the two, Blue looked at Dream who was flailing at the actions of Ink, and face palmed.

Why did the multiverse give two of the most important jobs to children?!
