"Imani"

Once I heard that I turned around.

"Last name?"

"....Johnson"

"Ok child's name?"

"Janai.... Johnson"

"No.. I see her name on the list. She can go on up."

"Thank you" Imani said pulling the little girls hand and taking her to the side. She told the the girl something and she nodded then Imani kissed her cheek and sent her upstairs.

"Imani?" I said walking towards her. She froze at my voice then got up slowly.

"H-h-hi" She said looking around.

"You haven't seen me in 5 years and all you can say is hi?" I said getting mad.

"I have to go" she said looking scared. She turned to walk away but I pulled her hand back.

"Why did you leave?"

"I-I-I had too. Chresanto please let go."

"No. You left us. Do you even care that you've missed out on all of your daughter's life you probably don't looks like you have everything you want" I said pointing at all her designer. "Even have a daughter who's the lucky n*gga" I never even knew how mad I actually was.

"You don't know what your talking about" she said looking back at me.

"Fill. Me. In."

"Tell me when it became ok to leave your 2 month year old?"

"....I need to go..please Chres." She said crying.

"She ask about you all the time...looks just like you and everything." I calmed down seeing her cry.

".....Have a picture with you?" She said quietly.

"Yea" I pulled a picture out my wallet and put it in her hand. She looked at it and covered her mouth.

"Oh my god she's beautiful....she's so big"

"Yea she's a blessing...So your married now?"

"No I'm not"

"Than what's with the last name change"

"Its stupid now...It was to hide from you which is retarded now that you've seen me." She looked over her shoulder again then back at me. It was a bruise on her cheek that was visible from the tears ruining her make up.

"He hits you?"

"I have to g-"

"Imani!" Somebody called.

"Move!" She said pushing me into the crowd of people.

"Baby whats taking so long?"

"Sorry the school was asking a lot of questions"

"Why is that showing" he muttered talking about her bruise.

"My allergies n*gga goshh"

"You saw him didn't you?"

"Yes you did"

"No I didn't. Does Juani even go here?"

"Yes"

"So are you driving orr?"

"Yea..I'm hungry"

"Me too leggo" he said grabbing her hand and taking her outside. He looked familiar but I couldn't find out where I knew him from.

Imani turned back one time and pointed to her hand. I opened mine and saw the picture but it was something on the back.

'I told you I'll be back just be patient. By the way Janai i' I guess she never got to finish witting. I didn't even see her writing anything but oh well.

When I got back home the boys, true to their word, were still there.

"Hey guess who I saw today" I said while going into the kitchen.

"Who" they asked at the same time.

"Imani" I said while pouring cereal. They gave each other a look then they came and sat at the island.

"Look Chres you know we love you but are you sure you don't need help?" Ray said.

"No I'm positive I saw her...she has a daughter..I guess her name is Janai and she goes to Juani's school she looks about Juani's age too...so I guess Imani was cheating" I said getting milk.

"Umm are you positive it was her?" Prince said giving me a spoon.

"Yes...we talked"

"So she talked to you?"

"Yea but then some dude who I think I know came in looking for her and she left with him.

"Oh..so how was she?" Prince asked

"She looked good but I think her boyfriend hits her"

"D*mn thats rough" Ray said rubbing his eyes.

"I know but look" I pulled the picture out my pocket and showed them the back.

"Who is Janai?" Prince said.

"I'm guessing her daughter"

"Did her boyfriend see you?"

"No. I think she was hiding me from him. She pushed into a bunch of people when he came over."

"Well than maybe you'll see her when you pick Juani up.

"Hopefully...."
