The only thing that could be heard was the sound of my feet hitting the dead leaves. I soon came upon the small pond where everyone comes to shift. I lent down and pulled off my VANS and my black socks and dipped my feet in the warm pool of water. I sighed as I sunk down and sat. My wolf was itching to run, but I refused to let it out. I dug my toes into the muddy floor of the pond.

"I don't want a mate." I told my wolf out loud. "But I do." He said forcefully. "I don't need a girl holding me back." I almost yelled at him. "She wont hold you back, she'll make you stronger!" He insisted. I scoffed. "No. She will make the pack stronger, not me." I said. "But she will!" My wolf insisted.

"What are you doing here?"  A soft voice asked. I turned around and saw Terra. My wolf purred, but I scoffed.

"Trying to get away from you." I replied rudely.

    "Well someone's an ass."She mumbled.

    "I heard that!" I said.

"You were meant to hear it." She snapped at me.

"Your sarcasm is noted." I said.

"Fantastic." She said sarcastically. I pulled my feet out of the water an shifted, not even bothering to take off my clothes. I stretched my limbs and took off.  I heard my paws hit the floor roughly and felt the wind comb through my fur. I ducked before branches could hit me. I heard heavy footfalls behind me. I tried to speed up, but not before she caught up to me.

Her wolf was dirty blond with hazel brown eyes, she was small and gorgeous. I shook my head of the thought and sped off. She was still following me. I growled and stopped. I went to go tell her off but stopped when I saw her again. My wolf took over me. I went up to her and nuzzled in her shoulder. I inhaled and exhaled, absolutely happy. I nipped at her nose. Her wolf made a low sound that sounded a lot like a moan. My wolf made a sound of appreciation. I heard a rustling and snapped back to reality. I moved away and shifted, as did she.

     "Cover yourself!" She furiously whispered.

"But you know you like my body." I said as I held a hand to my heart. She covered her body. I heard more rustling come from the trees. I averted my gaze towards where the sound came from. I saw a pair of eyes peek through the trees and then disappear. "We have to go." I said. The figure stepped out of the woods. He looked a lot like dad, yet quite a bit like grandpa before he died.

"You look so much like him." The man said. I stepped back and stood in front of Terra, guarding and covering her. She placed her small hands on my back and I shivered under her touch but didn't turn to face her.

"Who are you?" I asked as my loud voice boomed and echoed off the trees.

"Has your father not told you yet?" The man asked with a chuckle. "Wait don't answer that. I mean why should he tell you, last things he said to me was that I was pretty much dead to him, and that I better be to everyone else." He paused. "But after 18 years of hiding I'm done! You can tell your dad Thomas is back and nobody is safe." He said. I just nodded. "Oh and nice bitch you got there." He said peeking around me to look at Terra. I growled. "I'm terribly sorry but she is naked, what did you expect." He said. I growled once more.

    "Let's go Terra." I whispered.

"OK." She said, barely audible. I turned before he could see her. We began to walk back and a little after Thomas was out of sight Terra stopped and turned around. I tried to keep my eyes from wandering but it was no use. "Who was that?" She demanded. I shrugged my shoulders and looked her in the eye.
