(Jasmine)

Chres got back about 30 minutes later, and I was nearly done unpacking the kitchen. He brought 5 boxes of clothes, and since it was starting to get dark that was his last trip. He sat on the counter, watching me unpack. I laughed. "What?"
He pulled me closer to him. "Nothing just watching my future wife unpack at our brand new mansion while our 10 little kids run around and she cook me some steak and mashed potatoes and homemade rolls with some sweet tea on the side and some red velvet cake baking in the oven." He rocked me side to side as he daydreamed about whatever.
"Um,no. No kids yet,and definitely not 10 of them. And I'm not cooking tonight because we were invited to dinner by our neighbor,Jacob. And there's no reason to be watching me because I look a mess." He grabbed me as I tried to walk away.
"Baby you look gorgeous. And it never hurt a man to dream. We'll get there one day." I smiled, and pecked him on the lips before starting to walk upstairs. "I have to get ready, because I feel disgusting right now."
"Okay." He said,chuckling.
After I took a shower, I just brushed my hair down, and threw on my purple spaghetti strap sundress and my black sandals and I stepped out of the bathroom so the Chres could take his shower.
"Damn girl I ain't know it was possible to look that good in a sundress." I laughed, pushing him off of me.
"Go take your shower."
"Come with me."
"No Chres I just got out. Hurry up." I started laughing as he made a fake sad face and walked into the bathroom.
I checked my phone while waiting on him and played a few games on it because I didn't feel like unpacking anything else. He came out about 10 minutes later with a pair of jeans and a black button down shirt on. He had on his gold chain and watch and Timberlands.
"Oooo somebody smells gooood." I ran up to him hugging him tight.
"Ladies, ladies enough. It's enough of me to go around."
I gave him a stank look and grabbed my purse. "We should go now. We don't want to be rude."
"After you, milady." He bowed in front of the door, and I walked in front of him, down the stairs, and across the street. I rung the doorbell and stood back. Jacob opened the door, smiling. Chres wrapped a gentle hand around my waist. "Hey Jacob, this is my boyfriend,Chresanto." I said, wrapping my right arm around Chres. Jacob's face dropped a little.
"Nice to meet you,Jacob." Chres said politely. Jacob barely smiled back, shaking his arm. I waited awkwardly for him to greet him back, but he didn't.
"You guys arrived just in time. The Quesadillas just came out of the oven." Chres gave me a look and we walked in.
"Um h-he's allergic to tomatoes."
"Oh I'm sorry man,I didn't know." Jacob looked back but led us to the kitchen. His house was very neat and well decorated for him to be living by himself.
"Oh that's fine. I'll just get something when we leave."
"Jacob your house is really nice." I complimented, looking around. Sam ran up to me,putting his paws up on my leg. "Hey,Sam." I laughed, petting him. Jacob started setting the table and I washed my hands. We all sat down and Jacob bought a plate out for me and him.
"So where are you guys from?" He asked as we started eating. "Los Angeles" we both responded. I chuckled. "We met in high school sophomore year, and went to college together." Chres smiled, grabbing my hand.
Jacob smiled tightly. "How cute." Chres gave him a look and I cleared my throat. "What about you?"
"Oh I've been here in Sacramento my whole life."
"That's nice. I like it here." Chres said, chuckling.
I picked a piece of my quesadilla off and made sure there were no tomatoes and fed it to Chres. "Thanks." He said, chewing. The quesadillas were really good. I started to get uncomfortable with the silence and awkwardness in the air. Jacob seemed to have no problem with it though, and he casually made small talk and we told each other about ourselves.
I learned a little more about the neighborhood, and it was basically filled with old white people and a few small families. There was almost no crime in this area and there were a lot of things to do around town. Jacob was very down to earth and cool, but I got a feeling that Chresanto didn't like him. When it was time to go,we walked to the door and I gave Jacob a quick hug before Chres shook his hand.
"Thanks for having us over the food was really good." I said. He smiled.
"Next time we'll have to go to a restaurant so that we can all enjoy." He said, chuckling. Chres smiled tightly. "Well,we should go now,see you tomorrow." I said, waving as we walked down the street. When we walked in our house,Chres sighed loudly, then walked in the kitchen to fix himself a bowl of cereal. I followed him then sat up on the counter, watching as he looked like he was thinking hard. He stood and ate the cereal and I still watched him. He looked at me.
"What?"
"What's wrong?"
"Something about him doesn't sit right with me." He said, looking at me.
"Why? He's nice."
"I don't like the way he was looking at you."
"Chresanto August. Are you jealous?" I folded my arms. He walked to me and stood between my legs.
"No."
"Yes you are. Why are you jealous? He's just our neighbor. I'm with you."
"But the way he was looking at you. He was basically-"
"Stop it."
"But-"
"I said stop it. You're probably just tired. Come on,let's go to bed."
He put the bowl in the sink. "Fine."
I smiled and walked upstairs, then took off my dress, putting on a big t-shirt. I watched as Chres put on basketball shorts and got in the bed, pulling me close. I was very comfortable, and it was already feeling like home to me.
