"Can you at least tell us where we're going?" I begged as the four of us sped down the familiar Hawkins streets.

Robin laughed.

"You have no sense of adventure, you know that?"

I looked at my girlfriend and rolled my eyes in Robin's direction.

El laughed at my dramatized expression.

"You know I can see you right?" Robin asked and I laughed hysterically.

Robin's girlfriend rolled her eyes, though she was smiling anyway.

"Lighten up Nancy Drew," I said to her with a sly grin and Nancy turned around in her seat to mock glare at me, not saying a word.

Robin was laughing so hard she nearly crashed us into a tree.

"Robin!" all three of us shrieked and Robin hastily apologised.

"Sorry!" she cried, swerving back onto the road.

"I'm not going to make it out of this car alive." Nancy breathed and Robin smiled, glancing over at her.

"Eyes on the road!" I screamed and Robin nearly jumped five inches into the air.

"Jesus Max!" she exclaimed.

Nancy stared at her, incredulous.

"You almost drove us off the road! Again!"

El was half crushed as I fell against her, Robin swerving around the corner way too fast.

"Robin!" El screeched.

Robin finally pulled over and turned in her seat to face the rest of us.

"I have to practice!" she told us, with a small shrug.

Nancy and El were panting with relief that the car had finally stopped and I sent a playful glare in Robin's direction.

"Did you ever consider that maybe...just maybe, you shouldn't be driving?" Nancy asked, breathless and Robin rolled her eyes.

"I'm getting better," she reasoned and we all laughed.

"Who told you that?" I asked her and she pulled a face.

"Whatever, Mayfield. Nance you can drive if you want," she told Nancy, climbing over the top of her girlfriend to swap seats.

"Robin!" Nancy yelped as she struggled to move into the drivers' seat.

El and I exchanged a knowing glance. The two girls had only been together for half a year but it was becoming increasingly obvious that they were in love.

Much like El and I.

Nancy started the car again and began to drive at a much steadier pace back towards the main streets of Hawkins.

"Hey!" Robin cried in protest.

"What?" Nancy asked.

"I never told you where we were going! You're going the opposite direction!"

Nancy sighed but continued to drive.

"Where were we going?"

"I don't even know!" Robin sputtered out through fits of laughter.

El, Nancy and I exchanged a look before bursting out into laughter also.

"Sometimes I just don't understand you," Nancy said and Robin grinned.

"Yeah but that's why you love me."

I raised my eyebrows at El.

"Love?" I echoed and Nancy gasped, laughing.

Robin's face flushed red.

"Sorry-"

Nancy's eyes widened and she turned to look at Robin.

"No! No, its true. I do love you," she murmured.

The car took a sharp turn and Nancy shrieked.

"Sh!t!" she cried.

"That's it, I'm walking!" El said, a smile dancing behind her eyes.

The car pulled into the Wheeler's driveway and the four of us scrambled outside.

"Is Mike home?" asked El, her voice quiet as Nancy led us up the pavement to her house.

"No, he's at some Dungeons and Dragons thing with the others."

El nodded and we followed Nancy inside.

The kitchen table was littered with pens and paper, letters and envelopes covering the floor.

"Sorry about the mess," Nancy said with a vague gesture of her hand.

"I thought you were going to Emerson?" Robin questioned and Nancy nodded.

"Yeah, I am. This is just prep," she explained and Robin sighed dramatically.

"That's exactly why I'm not going to college," she said and I rolled my eyes.

"You sound like Steve," I told her and she slapped me on the arm playfully.

"There are worse people you can sound like," Nancy reasoned as she tidied the room.

"Yeah? Like who Wheeler?" Robin asked, her voice teasing.

"Mike," El said with a grin and we all laughed but Nancy, who was quite clearly biting it back.

"We all know he's a loser, Nance. Who cares if he's your brother?" Robin asked.

Nancy rolled her eyes, though she was still smiling.

"Me," she said as Robin swept her up into a hug.

"Oh yeah?"

"Ahem," I cleared my throat sharply and the two girls sprung apart.

"Like you two aren't all over each other every spare minute," Nancy said with a gesture to El and I.

"We are not!" El exclaimed, her cheeks bright red.

"I can change that," I told her with a sly smile.

"All right, all right, we're even," Robin said throwing her hands up in defeat.

Nancy threw the last of the papers into the kitchen drawer before leading us upstairs.

"What do you guys want to do?" she asked.

"Well I think we can all agree that Robin is a danger to herself and others when she's in a car," I started and Robin yelped in protest.

"Agreed," said Nancy and I shot Robin a smug look.

"Lets just stay here," said El, who was already stretched out over Nancy's bed.

"Works for me," I shrugged.
