The Arizona sun pierced my skin and I squinted my eyes up at the sky. I had always loved my tan skin and my nose that was peppered with small freckles. All of that was about to change, I was moving to the wettest place in the continental U.S., but Bella needed me.

Charlie had called a few days ago in a panic. 'Bella isn't doing well Lilah', I remember how strained his voice sounded. My heart clenched thinking of them both. Last year when Bella moved I decided I wasn't quite ready for that leap. I was never brave like Bella. So I went on the road with my mom and Phil. It was fun sometimes, I enjoyed swimming in the hotel pools and always eating take out chicken strips for dinner. It was time for a change, I needed to be brave enough to make that change.

That led me here, standing in front of my mom and Phil with two rolly suitcases and Mr. Melvin and my blanket tucked under my arm. I smiled warmly at them both.

"I'll call every night. Please don't be too bored without me." I said giving them a crooked smile.
This only made Phil laugh as my mom shook her head with a trembling lip.

"I'm going to miss your sweet smiling face." She said as a tear rolled down her face. Upon seeing the tear I felt my facade break and could barely contain myself. I always hated seeing others cry, every time I did I would end with an ocean pouring down my face. I sighed leaving my luggage and running to my mom. My arms engulfed her in a tight hug as I breathed in her scent. Citrus and sun screen. I was going to miss it.

The airport was a little intimidating, more like super intimidating but I finally navigated my way through security and to my flight with ten minutes to spare. Flying was always the most fun part for me, except the part where I have to continually yawn to pop my ears. I sat in my seat, which happened to be a window seat (my favorite), and propped Melvin under my head.

The Seattle-Tacoma Airport, I smiled sluggishly at the sign. Naps always made me feel like I'd been hit with a truck. The buzzing crowd did help me wake up slightly as I ventured to baggage claim. Once I secured both bags I navigated my way to the pick up area.

Starring down at my gray sweatpants and my pink slippers seemed like the perfect pass time as I waited for Charlie. It had been so long since I'd seen him. Unlike Bella, it had never been awkward between us.

"Hey Bug!", I knew that voice anywhere. Leaving my luggage behind I ran and threw myself into Charlie's arms.

"Daddy, I've missed you so much." This got an award winning smile from him as he placed me back down on the ground.

"I've missed you too, kiddo." I grinned at him as he went back to retrieve my bags from the ground. I was finally home.
