chapter 4

devan's pov

We arrived at school about 10 minutes later, and of course it's pouring outside. I don't hate the rain but I don't like it either. Days like this I just wanna stay at home and watch horror movies with Logan. "Come on baby, we have to go to class." I'm snapped out of my thoughts by my vampire, who's holding an umbrella out for me so I don't get wet.

I smiled at Logan and kissed his cheek, "thank you vampy." Logan scoffs and pinches my cheek softly with his free hand, "vampy? really? that's what you come up with?" I rolled my eyes playfully, "I think it's cute! Now deal with it mister, I could be could be calling you daddy instead but I chose the cuter option." I grabbed the umbrella out of a shocked Logan's hand and start to walk to the entrance of the school.

"Wait a minute!"

School was a bore as always, classes went by fine and luckily Colton isn't bothering me anymore. If anything, he looks scared to sit next to me. Must of been Logan. I sigh dreamily as I think about him. I know we went pretty fast and were basically together now, but when the universe matches you with someone and you're destined to be together, why string it out? I just don't see the point.

And I know I said I wanted to take it slow, but being with Logan changed all of that. The way he protects me, hugs me, texts me during classes to see if I'm ok, just makes me fall harder.

"-for the paper anyway, and they need a guy to help choose the music, so I need your playlist. Hey, listen, I was wondering, did you have a date to..." I could hear Eric ramble on to Bella, trying to impress her and ask her to prom, but Mike intervened. I could see the cockiness and self satisfaction radiating off my sister as she has two boys head over heels for her already.

Bitch.

They talked a little more til Bella started to walk to her seat, seeing Edward actually in his spot. Oh yeah I forgot to mention, he came back last night. Oops, wish he stayed in Alaska, sorry not sorry, get fucked. Bella glared at me as she passed my seat, making sure to discreetly hit me with her bag.

I wanted to scream at her, pull her hair out, kick her til she bleeds... dark thoughts but who gives a shit? She, Charlie and Renee have been treating me like shit for years, and I doubt they'll ever stop. So what if I want Bella's truck brakes to stop working? I'll be on the side, next to Logan, safe and taking pictures of her as she screams about her rusty and dusty truck being ruined.

I must of spaced out for a while cause I see Colton doing all the work, even mine, and I see I had a missed call from Logan. "Uh teach, is it ok if I go to the bathroom?" I asked Mr. Molina who nodded, "yes yes but be back quick, you might be the lucky winner of the golden onion!" I smiled at my quirky teacher and exited the class, feeling holes being burned in the back of my head.

I unlock my phone and call Logan back, who answers immediately. He's in gym how the fuck-

"Cara Mia I miss youuuuu." There goes my heart, melting. I smiled over the phone and walked down the empty hallway, "that's what you called me for? I was in class babe." Hearing the squeaks of sneakers and yelling on his side of the phone, I assumed he's just blowing off class to talk to me.

"What happened to vampy?" I giggled and messed with the bottom of my shirt, "you have multiple nicknames you dork. But hey I have to get back to class, pick me up after?" His answer with immediate, "of course my love, i'll be outside the door waiting for you. Don't let Isabella or Edward talk to you, just ignore them if they try to strike up a conversation. Ok?"

I nodded my head but then remembered he can't see me, "yes babe, already planned on that." You can tell he's smiling through the phone, "ok my love, I'll see you in a bit." I kissed the phone and answered him back, I'll see you soon baby."

Turns out I was talking to Logan longer than I thought, as I enter the classroom, some pair won the golden onion and Mr. Molina was talking about a field trip coming up. Oops, oh well. Class ended and just as Bella and Edward started to walk towards me, I was out the door and ran into a solid chest that smelled of expensive cologne and the woods.

"Hey cara mia, how was class?" Logan asked in his deep as fuck voice, sending shivers down my virgin spine. "It was ok, pretty boring and there's a field trip coming up, just glad to be with you now." Logan smiled and nuzzled his face into my hair, then we began walking to the parking lot.

Bella's POV

I wanted to talk to Logan after classes but my freak brother was attached to him as soon as they saw eachother. So I was stuck with Edward in the meanwhile. It's a good thing people can't read minds. After our talk, he just kind of stormed off, so I walked alone to my truck. I see Logan and Devan over by Logan's car making out, the rest of the family around their cars looking at me. That means they're interested in me right? Why else would they look at me?

Soon Logan and his family will see I'm better and drop Devan completly, just like how things were at our old school. I smirked in my head, you're mine Logan Cullen.

Logan's POV

Being with my mate is the best feeling in the world. His smaller body against my taller and buffer one, his plump lips against my cold ones, his warm arms around my neck and playing with my hair. I could die happy. I will always protect my little cara mia, no matter who I have to kill.

I'm snapped out of my lustful trance, sorry Jasper, when I heard the screeches of tires and a horn going off. I pulled away from Devan to see a van out of control and heading towards Bella. Ehh, I don't care, as long it's not my 4 siblings or Devan in trouble, nothing else matters.

I even started to smile as I saw it was going to Bella, #teamcarthatshouldvehitbella right here. But no, our stupid brother Edward just had to go save her, risking our exposure in the process. I could see Rosalie shaking with anger, Alice's eyes were wide in shock, Jasper has his natural rigid stance but more on edge, and Emmett was angry as well but mainly worried for Rose.

"I'm gonna kill him." Rosalie said in anger, her fists clenched at her sides. "Can I join?" I asked playfully yet I meant every word. Dickward just exposed us to a human, a nosy human who isn't even his mate.

"I-I didn't see this coming, it happened so sudden." Alice stuttered, Jasper holding her tighter in comfort. "It's ok Alice, that van surprised all of us." My mate said timidly, trying to make my sister feel better. Alice nodded and smiled softly at Devan.

Everyone started to crowd around Bella, so we took that as our chance to leave. "Come on baby, let's go." I led Devan to my jeep, helping him in then rushed to my side. I leaned my head on the steering wheel in frustration, "are you ok love?" A small voice asked me, instantly making me feel more at ease.

I lifted my head and nodded at Devan, "I'm fine cara mia, just frustrated with Edward." My phone beeped and I pulled it out of my pocket.

I turned to Devan, "do you want to come with me to the hospital? Rosalie wanted me to go with her so she doesn't kill Edward." Devan giggled and nodded, "yeah sure! I'll go where you go love." Can he be any cuter? I swear my undead heart is beating for the first time in centuries.

I smiled and started the car, following Rosalie to Fork's Hospital.

(Sorry it's a short one :( my friend is coming into town tomorrow for a week but I at least wanted to get something up while I cant update for when he's here. I'll make sure to double update when he goes back home to treat yall lovely people 💕)
