chapter 5

logan's pov

This sucks.

I hate the hospital, there's food around every fucking corner and I can feel myself shaking with bloodlust. But I'm not lashing out because Devan is with me and I don't want to hurt him or scare him.

"Baby, are you ok?" Devan asks softly as he holds my hand, letting me know he's there for me. I shakily nodded my head and held my breath, my eyes trained on a girl being brought in on a gourney... all bloody. It would be so easy to just-

I'm snapped out of my thoughts as my love started trembling, holding onto me tighter. My bloodlust is completly gone and it's replaced with repulsion as I see Charlie and Isabella staring at us in anger. I wanted to smirk as I could see the jealousy in Isabella's eyes.

I nestled Devan closer to me on the couch, while also keeping my ears open to Carlisle, Rosalie and Edward's conversation in the hallway. "I gotta go sign some paperwork. You should, uh... you should probably call your mom." Charlie said gruffly as he glared at his son in my arms.

I swear if they try anything, I'll kill them.

devan's pov

The amount of hate in their eyes towards me could never be matched. They'll never allow me to be happy. Bella will always have the spotlight. Charlie and Renee will always praise her for everything. And I'll always be the one at the bottom.

I just wanted to run away with Logan, Italy sounds nice. Or maybe London. I'll have to talk to that with him later when we're alone. "Isabella's gonna call her mom, so she's probably gonna blame you for everything. You're staying at my place tonight." Logan mumbled to me as he kissed my cheek.

I nodded happily as I snuggled closer to him. I'll gladly stay with Logan and his siblings. "Keep me updated on what they're saying babe, I don't have your super hearing you know." I pouted as I looked up from Logan's chest.

He chucked and nodded, "Edward said "what was I supposed to do? Let her die?" And Rosalie replied with, "This isn't' just about you. It's about all of us." And the bitchy doctor said, "I think we should leave this in my office." Because it's so obvious that Isabella is spying on them."

"Can I talk to you for a minute?" I heard Bella ask Edward as Carlisle lead Rosalie away and over to Logan and I.

"I'm gonna kill him." She muttered as she sat down on the other side of Logan after giving me a hug. "Ehh don't kill him yet, let him suffer for a little while longer." My hubby said as he and Rose laughed. Meanwhile Carlisle glared at Logan.

"What are you doing here Logan? This place is full of humans and you're still unstable." My eyes widened at that. Logan has been perfectly fine since we got here, yeah he stared at the bloody and hurt people but he didn't do anything.

Rosalie glared at her coven leader, "I brought Logan here because I needed backup, or else your precious trophy son would've been 20 feet in the ground by now. And he's been doing perfectly fine because Devan, his MATE, is here keeping him calm. So stop and leave him alone."

Have I ever told anyone Rosalie is my favorite girl of the house?

Carlisle left in anger and walked back to his office I'm assuming. "Thanks Rose, but I could've said that myself." Logan huffed out a laugh as his sister smiled at him. "Well you know I always got your back. I hate how they talk like that to you. And yes I know you're older but I'm just being the protective younger sister."

I smiled at their relationship, I wish I had that... But Logan and his siblings are all I need in life.
