chapter eleven !

└─── °∘❉∘° ───┘

The crowd continued to dance with one another, June finished her singing while Lucy Gray took over. Juniper met Coriolanus at a small area in the barn. She ran up and hugged him, he span her around as they met.

"I thought I wouldn't see you again." Juniper glanced up at the boy and grinned. "And why would I abandon you like that." He grins as he looks down at her. The two stared j to each others gazes as they took the moment in.

"Your hair." Juniper giggled grazing her hand over his head where his blonde curls used to be. Coriolanus couldn't tell if she liked it or not, "I like it. It suits you, Coryo." June replies, she smiles softly, while already reading his mind.

While Lucy Gray sang, her ex-boyfriend came barging in and caused a ruckus. "Lucy Gray please take me back." He pleaded drunk. Lucy tried her best to ignore him, but he was starting to become the centre of attention.

When some peacekeepers tried to escort him, he did not go. The mayor's daughter hurried in to attempt to stop him, but she was unable to do so. "Billy, leave it alone." She tried to pull him away but he pushed her aside carelessly.

The girl now landing on the floor, she held her hand up to her injured head. Just seconds ago he was all over her but the next he was quick to leave her, classic Billy Taupe. Always being a jerk face or a drunk idiot.

"Are you okay?" June noticed and tried to help the girl even though after all the horrible things she did to her. "Get off of me, Wildsong." The mayors daughter pushes June away. "I was just trying to-"

"You were trying to what? Steal my spotlight as always. Your pathetic." She scoffs and spits on the ground next Juniper's shoe. "What is your problem with me?" June confronts her. "Oh." She rolls her eyes and scoffs, she folds her arms.

"You just can't leave it alone can you?" Mayfair grins her wicked smile coming up closer to June. "Leave what alone?" June frowns her eyebrows. "Your just jealous that I have talent and you don't." Mayfair pouts in her whiny voice.

"God, your just so obsessed with me, it's embarrassing." Juniper shrugs and mimics Mayfair's tone. "What did you say?" As Mayfair moves in June's direction, her smile fades. Coriolanus stood by close in case anything went to far.

As Billy was getting escorted as managed to slip past Juniper and whisper something in her ear, "I know you missed me, sweet girl." He curls a strand of her hair. The smell of his alcohol breath stung her nostrils.

Coriolanus was quick to notice the suspicious act he was pulling. "C'mon, Juniper." Billy continues to make kissing noises coming closer to her face. "Hey, that's enough." Coriolanus stopped him, pushing him away from Juniper.

"Coryo. It's okay, I can handle it." She gives him a reassuring nod, but he doesn't leave. "Yeah pretty boy. Listen to the little lady." Billy taunts. And that was the last string for Coriolanus.

Coriolanus's fists gripped so tightly at his side, June quickly stepped back, worried. She knew Coriolanus had a small temper, and when she saw how tight he had his fists together she thought he was going to hit Billy.

Instead, he punched Billy straight in the face with so much force that the boy lost balance and fell into a heap on the floor. Billy looked up and wiped the blood off his nose, "What the hell?"

June tried to prevent him from attacking Billy, pulling him back. "You didn't have to do that! What's wrong with you, I'm fine! I can handle it!" She tried to look angry but her blushing cheeks made it look as if she were lying and actually grateful.

The crowd were stunned and Lucy Gray stopped singing, Billy got back up and threw a punch at Coriolanus but merely missed his face by a second.

It all happened so quick, the crowd was now in an outbreak with fighting one another. Lucy Gray grabbed the mic and began yelling "EVERYONE CALM DOWN! CALM DOWN!"

She stood in front of Coriolanus in hopes of preventing him from taking more hits or possibly even hurting another.

"CALM DOWN! THIS ISN'T A FIGHTING COMPETITION! THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A HAPPY EVENT!"

Most of the crowd ignored her, the few who did back up couldn't stop looking at the fight going on, even Lucy Gray was having trouble not watching.

"Coriolanus, let's go." June grabbed ahold of his arm pulling them out of the barn before they could get in any trouble, or something far more worse.

June led Coriolanus outside of the barn.
The two were now standing far away from the crowd as the fights began to simmer down.

"You didn't have to do that... I didn't even get hurt." She placed her hand on his cheek. "I know... but... that didn't excuse the way he was acting." He breathed deeply, not looking at June.

Coriolanus let out a sigh as June's hand touched his cheek.
Coriolanus didn't say anything, instead he stared directly at June, just being in her presence made him feel at ease.

Coriolanus's blood was rushing, his breath was still unsteady, and his mind had been racing back and forth from the fight.

Snow knew he shouldn't have snapped, but he couldn't stand by and watch the girl he was madly in love with get harassed right in front of him.

Coriolanus leant forward and kissed June on the spur of the moment. Her hands slid onto the sides of his head as she gave him a kiss that took her by surprise at first. It felt like every other worry just faded away.

Coriolanus pulled away after a few seconds and smiled at the girl in front of him. June couldn't wipe the smile off her face, she could see the same in Coriolanus's face.

Juniper's cheeks were now pink, she looked at him so star struck. "I've missed you." He finally spoke up. "I've missed you too." June replied softly.
