Issei let out a pained cry as he felt a fist slam into his chest. He fell back, laying on the ground.

"Get up." Suk-chin told him, standing over the boy.

"Oh come on!"  Issei groaned. "How the hell is this training? You're just beating the crap out of me!"

Suk-chin looked down at him, not looking very amused. "Get up." He repeated softly.

Issei grumbled, but got up anyways.

"Try again." Suk-chin ordered, and Issei obeyed. He closed the distance and tried to throw a punch.

"Wrong." Suk-chin swept his legs out from under him, knocking him on his ass.

"Damnit!" Issei growled, getting back up to his feet. "Will you just explain what the hell this supposed to do?"

"I told you before, didn't I?" Suk-chin asked. "Issei, you're different from the others." He said.

"Kiba has his speed, but most overcome his lack of creativity and depth. Koneko has her strength, but most overcome her stature. Akeno has her magic, but must overcome her physical limitations." Suk-chin listed.

"But everything you do is fundamentally wrong." Issei cringed at the deeply insulting statement.

"That's why we need to start with the basics of actual combat." Suk-chin said. "I taught you one move before, but I'll go over a few more basics for you."

Suk-chin placed his left leg forward, and raised his hands. "Pay close attention to what I'm doing, and how I'm doing it."

He slowly, very slowly, through a punch with his left hand. A jab.

"You showed me this one before." Issei commented. Suk-chin nodded. "I did." He agreed. "But what I didn't tell you is that a jab is different from other punches."

"In what way?" Issei asked. Suk-chin hummed. "Issei, what do you punch with?" He suddenly asked.

Issei's face crinkled in confusion. "What? ...With my hands?"

"And that's why your attacks are sloppy." Suk-chin told him. "You aren't really punching. You're just... throwing your hands at the opponent."

Suk-chin took the same stance as before. Slowly, step by step, he threw another punch, but with his right hand. A cross.

"Attacks are meant to have weight behind them. For a punch, it starts at your feet, and moves up your entire body." Suk-chin explained. "That is how you attack."

"Now, try again."

Issei stood up once more. This time, he took a stance similar to the one Suk-chin took.

He threw a punch. This time, he started with his foot. He sunk his weight into the blow, striking the air with much more force than usual.

Suk-chin smiled. "Better."

...

"You've been struggling with this for a while, now." Suk-chin said, sitting on a boulder as he watched Kiba strike a  practice dummy with his sword. Not a wooden one, but a real sword.

"This... target... is rather sturdy." Kiba admitted, as he attacked the dummy. The dummy was basically an entire person, with arms, legs and all. But whatever material it was made of was strong. Stronger enough that the knight's blade simply bounced right off of it. Kiba paused for a moment, taking a step back to catch his breath. "Where did you even get this thing, anyways?"

"I bought it with Rias' money." Suk-chin admitted shamelessly. "Now get back to work."

Kiba frowned, but continued on nonetheless.
