FIRST PERSON: GENYA SHINAZUGAWA
I couldn't recall how, but eventually, I found myself outside, strolling along a scenic trail with Muichiro, who moved gracefully, skipping against the rocks. Delicate flower petals danced in the air, playfully chasing butterflies that swarmed the premises. It was a beautiful sight to behold in the local park that welcomed us with open arms.
The sun dipped low on the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow across the path where we strolled side by side. The early morning breeze rustled through the leaves of ancient oaks, their branches reaching skyward like gnarled fingers woven together in an intricate dance. The air was imbued with the sweet scent of wildflowers, each petal swaying to the rhythm of nature's symphony.
As we wandered along the narrow path, the smooth stones whispered secrets, and the earth beneath our feet cradled us in its soft embrace. The sky above painted a canvas of hues, transitioning from the vibrant blues of night to the fiery palette of a rising sun. A gentle warmth settled over the landscape, creating a serene ambiance that enveloped us in a cocoon of tranquility.
Birds perched on unseen branches, serenading us with melodic tunes that echoed through the air. The distant murmur of a babbling brook added a soothing undertone to our surroundings. In the distance, the silhouette of rural skyscrapers embraced the horizon, their contours bathed in the ethereal glow of twilight.
Muichiro eventually halted, leaving me perplexed in the middle of the trail beside him. He let out a huff, his gaze shifting upward toward the sky, accompanied by a subtle smile you could only mesmerize if you were looking closely at his lips, which I just so happened to be. The awareness of my unintentionally indecent gaze dawned on me, casting a flush of warmth across my cheeks, prompting me to avert my eyes.
"Isn't it beautiful?" He finally asked in a soft tone, looking up at me with the gentle part of his lips.
I nervously swallowed, my knees growing weak as he shot me with a look so earnest and tempting. The sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm, honeyed glow that touched every contour of his face. His eyes, pools of turquoise, sparkled with the reflection of the sun, and the blue strands of his hair caught fire, cascading like a waterfall of sunlight.
As I stole a glance at him, the sun accentuated the smoothness of his face, each ray caressing the canvas of his skin. A single, barely noticeable flaw adorned his otherwise flawless visage—a solitary mole perched just beneath his right eye, a charming imperfection that only served to enhance the allure of his beauty.
"Yes, it is... very beautiful," I whispered as he turned away from me to continue his calm skip.
I found myself entranced, mentally swept away as I trailed behind him, my legs reluctant to carry me forward as I absorbed every detail of his presence. Attempting to dispel the captivating thoughts, I furrowed my brows in an unusual effort, slipping my hands into my pockets while humming a tune.
Every once in a while, Muichiro would cast a fleeting glance in my direction, ensuring that I remained by his side every step of the way. In response, I unfailingly reciprocated with a reassuring smile, earnestly conveying my desire for him to find solace and security in my presence. I wanted him to feel protected.
Muichiro came to a sudden halt, his eyes widening in astonishment as he took in the scenery that unfolded before him. Now, we stood at the edge of a vast pond adorned with a multitude of lilypads and accompanied by the gentle presence of ladybugs. Despite traversing this serene path daily, Muichiro appeared perpetually captivated by the novel beauty that surrounded him. Observing the genuine wonder etched across his face each time he stumbled upon a new marvel, I couldn't help but be enchanted by the joy of his discoveries.
