The winter dance

It was the winter masquerade.
I was deciding on what to wear and I was gonna wear jeans but my sister didn't want me to be the only one wearing jeans so she helped me find a dress and she did my nails,hair, and makeup.
We drove to the school and I was nervous and also it was freezing bc they wouldn't let me take the jacket. I step out the car and walk to the line. A short girl walked up to me I didn't recognize her because of the mask but she started complimenting me I then recognized her voice and it was flounder. I was wondering why she looked extra short but it was because I a 5'8 female was wearing 3 inch heels. Dimples and another friend came up to us and they said hi to me. Flounder told the friend
"omg you look so beautiful "
and then she looked to dimples and frowned
"and you look just as ugly as usual "
and she grabbed my hand and dragged me away.
Flounder invited over kettle corn bc they are friends and I was cool with her again. And we walked in together. My best friend was in there and she was shocked because I never wear makeup or dresses so she stared at me for a good  5 minutes.
I was shivering and flounder took off her jacket and wrapped it around me.
I said thanks and she grabbed my hand and squeezed it she told me to wait right where I was. She asked my bestie if she could go walk with her to the bathroom. And they walked away. As I was waiting dimples and her friends dragged me to go eat something with them. They grabbed chocolate covered strawberries and then sat down. They started talking to me when flounder and my best friend came back and sat down with us. Flounder and dimples both sat next to me but on different sides. Flounder whispered to herself but I still heard her she said "eww why is (dimples' real name ) here " then she dragged me to the dance floor we just sang along to the song bc nobody would actually dance to "party in the USA" I told her she should take her sweater back because she looked cold and I put it back on her. She went to get some food and dimples and my best friend grabbed me and we went to the front of the restroom I was holding my arms bc I felt uncomfortable and dimples noticed and asked me if I was cold I said no and she asked me are you uncomfortable? And I said "kinda" and she said "do you want my jacket it's yours anyways"
And I thought about it and said yeah and she gave it to me. I put it on and thanked her. We went back to the floor and flounder walked up to me and said "why would you wear her jacket but not mine " and she walked away I felt bad about it so I sat down with her and held her hand. I told her about how it was my jacket in the first place I just let her borrow it but I never got it back. She understood and forgave me .

Fast forward to the last 10 minutes

I was getting bored of the dance bc the DJ sucked and the music was bad so I played games on my phone. Kettle corn and some other people sat down next to me. They asked if I was ok I said "yeah I'm good the DJ sucks so I got bored"
They agreed and asked if I wanted water. I said yeah that would be nice they came back and kettle corn handed me a nice cold bottle of water. I thanked her and smiled she smiled back at me. They sat across from me and we all  just talked about random things. The next song played and it was perfect by Ed Sheeran they all left to dance with each other and I just sat alone looking at the people dance together dimples and my best friend sat down with me saying "ughh they ruined the mood " . Flounder walked up to me and asked me "You wanna go dance with me ? Actually too bad your just coming with me!!" She grabbed my hand and walked to the floor with me and I looked her in the eye well kinda just the top of her head because she was way smaller than me. I grabbed her by the waist and she put her hand on mine and we swayed the last minute of the song and it ended. I smiled at her and we hugged and then someone pulled her away to dance with her. I was alone so I walked up to kettle corn and her group of friends Taylor swift was playing and me and kettle corn thought what if the DJ played "all too well it would be so good 😭" so we ran to the list and wrote it down we flipped the page so he couldn't see the songs underneath 😈  we laughed and ran off.
The dance was ending so we took some picture by the balloon wall. I stole my jacket back. And went outside I saw kettle corn standing alone so I walked alone when I got a text message. My sisters were 30 minutes away!!! Kettle corn offered to take me home and I asked are you sure and she said yeah if course let me ask my mom rq. She called her mom and she took me home. I got home and thats how my day went
