₊˚⊹"...No, I haven't.." You mumbled; your tone was a bit distraught, and you were sure the police noticed, but they didn't say anything about it.

"...Okay, well, if you do see anyone suspicious, call us." The policeman nodded before turning the other way, the two other policemen following after.

You sighed in relief and stood still in the alleyway for a bit, thinking about all that happened. "...This shit can't be real." You muttered to yourself aloud, before letting out another sigh and dusting off your clothes.

If it weren't for the darkness of the alleyway, you were sure the police would've questioned you on the dirtiness of them.

You slowly made your way home. About five minutes on your way, you got a text from, of course, Miles; it wasn't just a text either, it was multiple.

'F/N are you okay?'
'please be okay.'
'I'm sorry i know you don't care but i am.'
'F/N please be okay.'
'F/N.'
'F/N.'
'F/N.'
'F/N.'

You scoffed and opened his texts, just staring down at your phone. You weren't sure if you even wanted to reply, but there was one thing you had to acknowledge.

You started to type:

'Why is the police after you?'

Miles didn't reply. You rolled your eyes at your phone and put it back in your pocket, continuing to make your way home. And when you got there, you weren't gonna do anything but rest. After today, you definitely deserved it...

You got home before your mom did, which you were fortunate for because you knew she'd just ask why you were so beat up, which you couldn't blame her for, but you needed to be left alone right now.

You got in, took off your shoes messily, changed into some random shirt and shorts, and jumped into bed, burying your head into a pillow.

Thinking about all that happened; you just decided to close your eyes. Sleep was probably for the best.

**BANG**

About an hour later, your head jolted up by a loud noise. You looked around confused, only to hear it again.

**BANG** "F/N!"

You recognized that voice; you looked over to your window, and of course, by the fire escape, there was Miles staring right at you. You groaned in annoyance and put the pillow over your face.

"F/N, I know damn well you're not finna'-" He scoffed and banged even harder. "Open the doorrrr- I mean. Window," he said against the glass.

You moved the pillow from your face and gave him a side-eye; He stared back at you with a blank expression, causing you to let out a sigh in defeat. You finally gave in and lazily made your way to the window, opening it slowly just to aggravate him a bit.

"What do you want?" You said groggily, wiping your eye and making your way back to your bed. Only to your surprise, he grabbed your wrist, sitting you down on the floor with him.

"To talk...and...finally be honest." Hearing this, your interest became piqued, and when starting to actually pay attention to Miles, you noticed marks...bruises maybe?

You reached out your hand and caressed his cheek; he winced at the feeling. "...What's that?" You said with a raised eyebrow. He pushed your hand back with a sigh. "Nothing...don't touch it," He grumbled out.

"No, tell me what happened," you said in a more assertive tone. Miles instantly avoided eye contact, just like he always did before he would lie. Just as he was about to speak, you talked over him. "You said you were being honest."

Miles's eyes widened slightly, not expecting you to speak up. He sighed and looked back in your eyes once more. "...I got in a fight," he muttered.

And that was the truth...some of it at least.

"Fight with who?" You said, concerned, going back to touch his face, which he allowed you to do this time.

"Mami...We can ignore that for now...I...Just let me tell you...why what happened today...happened, okay?" He leaned his cheek more onto your hand, somewhat nuzzling it.

You sighed and nodded your head. He smiled softly in response. "...Okay..so....there's genuinely no way to sugarcoat this." He started to lose eye contact again.

"Look at me." You lifted his chin up so he was forced to keep eye contact, this caused him to laugh a bit and you to smile somewhat in retaliation.

"Chilll..." He smirked at you, his face gaining a small reddish hue, but soon that smirk died down as he took another breath.

"F/N...How would you even react if I told you I was a criminal..?" He gave you the most vulnerable look you've seen from him. You sighed but decided to be honest.

"...I'd be scared and wonder what you've been doing, b-but if you had a valid reason...No matter how bad the crime was, Miles...I-I'd be able to force myself to forgive you somehow...but depending on the crime, honestly bruh- you'd may never see me again, but...I'd always have that 'valid reason'...like to my heart."

You muttered, trying to form your words to the best of your ability. Miles listened intently and let out a sigh, his expression still the same vulnerable one from earlier.

"...F/N what I tell you, you have to promise not to tell anyone. Please." He said with a desperate tone, his hands reaching out to hold yours. "Promise me mami...You won't say anything. No part of it to anyone."

You stared into his eyes before nodding slowly. Miles nodded as well and took a long sigh. "...Imma tell you a story, aight'?" He said in a soft tone.

"...So, my...you know- pa died when I was 13." His face saddened and his tone became more flat. He always tried to seem nonchalant when talking about things that bothered him. You always wondered why he did such a thing but now wasn't the time to question his actions. It was time for you to listen.

"And the night he died...U-Uh I was crying in my room...and uh...my uncle saw me and...I-I was telling him, that 'I wanted to protect others like m-my dad did'..." His voice started to break up, It seemed really hard for him to re trace things that happened in the past, probably because he kept it bottled up. Noticing his voice breaking, you gently caressed his hands, and in retaliation he held your hands tighter.

"Anyway...We talked and he pulled out some gear from his pocket and...I was confused and shit like...'what's that?' You know? ...He then took me out to his place, and opened some like... secret wall. And there was hella like...purple gear back there and in the gear there was a suit and...He told me it was for me and, then...He started to 'train me' kinda? I-Ion know."

He sighed, and then just shook his head. "...I don't wanna talk about it honestly F/N...I'm just gonna show you.." You tilted your head confused, until Miles let go of your hands and unzipped his black hoodie.

A purple fist...that's...the prowlers symbol.
