Han Sohee
It's past lunch time when I arrive at my father's residence. Fortunately, there's no one around the mansion, maybe a few maids and that's it. I'm about to enter my room when someone irritatedly called my name.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance and turned around to face her with a heavy heart.
She scoffed in disgust as she looked at me from head to toe.
"What a disgusting slut you are," she said, irritated.
Soyeon walked towards me with her arms crossed. She stared at me disgustingly, especially to a certain part of my body. My neck.
"Your father got worried about where you were. Only to find out her only daughter is hoeing around with some guy," she said with a smirk and her mocking tone.
"Oh please, it's not like you've never done this before meeting my father," I said sarcastically, also hinting to her.
Her face shifted into irritation and let out a loud huff.
"Your father is not in good condition and you dare to do this for him?" Soyeon said getting mad. "And he wants give his wealth to his prodigal daughter?"
"My son deserves the wealth if you continue to act like that," she said, smirking as if planning something.
Nonetheless, when she said bad things about me, I frowned at the latter part. Is she trying to get my father's wealth for his son?
They've been married for 23 years. So all this time she's marrying for wealth?
My brow cocks at her and steps forward, towering her petite figure with my tall figure.
"You're speaking as if you're marrying my father just for his wealth." I spoke coldly and looked at her with disgust. Her expression suddenly changed into a subtle panic that I caught and she stumbled a bit backward trying to regain her assertive posture.
"Y-You brat, how dare you talk to your step mother like that?!" She bawled out on me.
Looking at her with a suspicious gaze, I stepped back letting her stupid action slide and gave her a blank stare. "If your son wants my father's wealth, he can have it. I don't care."
"But as far as I remember, he declined my father's wealth." I smirk, making her stunned.
"So better talk to your son about it. Lā k̀on." With that, I entered my room leaving her unable to speak.
With a sigh, I grabbed my phone and dialed someone as I remembered I lost his card.
"Hello?" He answered.
"Chanie! Hello," I greeted as I went inside my bathroom.
"Oh hey sis, you called?"
"Yeah. It's about your card. I lost it last night. I'm sorry." I sincerely felt bad about losing it.
"Ah, it's okay. No big deal. I'll just get another one next time." He said. "It's just a card anyway. It also means to stop coming back there," he joked, making me roll my eyes.
"Nope. You're getting one. I'll pay for the charges." I said.
"Sure. I'll tell you next time when I get another. For now I have to go." He said almost in a hurry.
"Sure. Bye." With that I ended the call.
I sigh as I put down the phone on the countertop.
Since my body has been aching since last night, I decided to soak my body in a bathtub. Filling it with scented bath soap.
Stripping off my clothes, I quickly dip my body after the warm water. My body felt relaxed.
I thought I would be relaxing and all, but what my father said last night came to my mind. I have to decide to meet my groom whenever I'm ready.
Well, I'll never be ready.
But for the love of my father, I have to do it soon and be done with it. I grabbed my phone that was just near the bathtub and dialed my father's number.
It took a few rings before he could answer it. While waiting for his answer, I suddenly contemplated telling my father about it.
"My daughter you called!" He chirped that I almost dropped my phone in the bathtub.
This old man has a lot of energy despite being old.
"Dad," I spoke with a sigh.
"It's your first time calling me first, it must be serious. What is it?"
"Um... about the marriage," I trailed and the anxious feeling started to set in. "I'll accept it."
There's a long pause in the other line which made me frown. I was about to call him, but a sudden loud cheer could be heard instead.
"Yes! That's a good decision my dear! Fortunately, I'm having a meeting with your future husband now." He was obviously delighted about my decision.
"Do you want to meet him tonight? So that you'll know him better. How's that?"
That's fast. But it's better in that way right? To make things end faster.
With a sigh, I agreed.
"Sure. Just tell me where I could meet him."
Hopefully, I'm not marrying someone old as my father.
