Chapter Two: Two PassengersBELINA
I caught my follower off guard. I was able to act almost at the same time as I was thinking.
But the moment our eyes met, I was the one who was astonished. The person who was following me just a few steps ago was not him but someone else, I was as sure as I could. How could the person standing in front of me be him now? Where did it come from?
And after all this time...
His eyes were just as I remembered.
Despite the distance between us, the strikingness of her violet eyes was clear. He was not someone who could be forgotten.
"You!" I said as I approached to him. "You saved me!"
It was impossible for him to tell from my tone of voice whether I was getting angry or saying something nice because I was literally shouting at him. I didn't know exactly what was going through my mind either. I was filled with a strange feeling. If it had been someone else, maybe I would have been afraid of him, but this stranger was familiar to me, he had saved me from death once before.
For the first time, I had the opportunity to observe my guardian angel standing before me in detail. I imagined him as a fairytale hero in my mind, we had met dozens of times before in my dreams and daydreams. As I fell asleep daydreaming of these encounters, I continued to see him in my dreams. I had no memory that did not cause me pain other than thinking about him. The dream of my violet-eyed savior was warm and bright. After all, he had saved me from the cold and cruel clutches of death.
I was looking at him with full attention without blinking my eyes.
The majesty of the one in front of me surpassed everything in my mind. It was much more magnificent than I imagined. I was speechless.
But I had so much to tell him, where would I start?Even though I had memorized every word we said in these dreams, how could everything I asked evaporate?I was standing right in front of him. He was two and a half steps taller than me. Moreover, I was quite tall for a Babel girl. He had a bony, masculine nose and a sharp chin, and his violet eyes were the most fascinating thing about his looks. His broad shoulders could be seen under his clothes. His hair was raven black and short. His pointed ears visible through his hair were indisputable proof of what he was: He was an Elf.
He had a sword hanging on his waist, a bow attached to his back and a leather outfit as black as his hair."Or were you watching me?" ' I finally continued, this time in a lower voice."Yes."When he spoke, I heard the voice of my savior for the first time.
I wasn't dreaming, this was real. He was actually in front of me."I saw you fall. Are you okay?" His tone of voice sounded sincere and the expression on his face was still harsh, unlike his voice.
"I'm fine. I mean, I haven't seen anything as ridiculous as that road, but I'm fine." When I said that, I noticed the skirts of my dress covered in dust. This was really annoying. I took a step back again so that my torn shoes would not be visible.
"Where are you going?" asked the elf. "I can give directions."
"Matea." I said unhappily, knowing that the mountain was exactly on the wrong side. When I decided to give up going to town and return, I realized that someone was after me, so I just continued doing what I was doing.
"As you can see the mountain is on this side." He said, pointing behind him with his hand, looking confused.
"It's a long story," I said. I was so tired and hungry that I didn't have the strength to tell this stranger about my day from the beginning.
