"you look hot as fuck, mandy", alexis says as she's checking out her friend. "thank youuu, you look nice too!", mandy answers.

"well...", alexis looks at herself in the mirror. she just wears blue baggy pants and a white top with a black hoodie jacket over it. she never was that much into fashion, unlike her friend.

"let's go already", mandy says and slaps alexis' ass. "bitch, that wasn't necessary!"

since ian texted her about the party tonight, mandy was hyped as hell. alexis has never seen her that excited over a party, which clearly has to do with chris. she's a bit annoyed about that, because if mandy's fucking with him for longer than tonight, everything will get worse.

alexis doesn't know what mandy would say, if she told her that they broke into chris' house. she doesn't know what she would say, if she told her that matt was the one who caught her. if mandy and her would be so stressed around them like she was at ian's birthday party, that would be definitely too suspicious. so she decides to keep it to herself.

while the girls walk over to the address ian sent her earlier, mandy doesn't shut up about how excited she is and that this will be 'a perfect
night'. alexis doesn't want her mood to be ruined, so she just rolls her eyes and laughs.

-

it wasn't a surprise that the party takes place in a nice neighborhood and it wasn't a surprise that the house is big.

the front door was already open, because a few people stand outside, smoking cigarettes. no one seems to care that the girls just enter the house, which is totally overcrowded. everyone, literally everyone, has a cup in their hand and alexis bets that in none of them is water.

her and mandy are holding hands so they don't lose each other. as they are walking around, alexis keeps an eye out for ian. they've already been in the hallway downstairs, in the kitchen, the living room, a bed room, even in the bathroom. so they head upstairs, hoping that they find someone they know.

as they entered another living room, which is way smaller than the one downstairs, mandy punches her friend on the shoulder. "look, there's ian. chris next to him! let's go!" she points across the room, where three couches are. on one of them are sitting chris and ian.

alexis isn't able to answer, because mandy already pushes her in their direction.

"yooo, julie! penelope!" ian shouts from afar, "come here, sit down with us and take a drink."

-

matt sits on a couch on the opposite of chris and ian. nick sits on the spare one talking to a stranger who offered him a drink.

"what's good, penny", chris asks the girl, scooting over and offering her a seat. he never shut up about her since he saw her last weekend, it's ridiculous. and chris is usually not the type of guy who talks nonstoppable about a girl ,that he talked to for like only 5 minutes. mandy sits down next to him and they immediately start chatting. matt himself just sits there, staring at his bottle of water.

-

while mandy already sits down, talking to chris, alexis still stands with ian next to the couches.

"still a pussy or already talked to him?", she asks him with a smirk. "fuck you", he rolls his eyes. "still a pussy, i guess."

alexis pushes him softly to sit down next to nick, who just turned around after talking to a guy. she sits down on the only spare seat of the couches as she unobtrusively watches ian and nick talk.

she spots multiple bottles of booze on the table in front of her. it'll gonna be a long night, so she decides to pour herself a drink.

she looks around. everyone seems to have the time of their lives. the music is loud, people are talking, some are dancing. ian and nick are definitely flirting with each other, there's no doubt. same with chris and mandy.

she's shocked as she looks to her right. matt. she didn't notice him before, even though he sits right next to her. „hey", she says, forcing a smile.

„hi." he seems pissed and that's driving her insane. does he recognize her or does he not? if he does, why doesn't he say a single word?

„alright, i'm going for a smoke", she mumbles but loud enough for matt to hear. she stands up, looks quickly through the room and spots a glass door, which leads to a balcony.

she walks outside and sits down on a little sofa. she lights her cigarette and blows out the smoke slowly. it's not only gonna be a long night, it's gonna be a hard night.

all of a sudden, matt stands in front of her. "mind if i join?"

"no, no. sit down." her heart races. she wouldn't even know what to answer if he asked her something about that night.

as matt sits down, he puts a cigarette in his mouth and lights it. "i could swear i've already seen you before."

alexis acts dumb, "yeah, i was a waitress at ian's birthday party."

"i know, i mean before that." he laughs softly. alexis hands get sweaty, but she smiles. „i don't think so."

they sit there in silence for a moment.

"is that a moth?" matt asks, nodding to her arm. "it is." she strokes softly over the tattoo, "they're like butterflies, but way cooler."

"they're kinda mysterious", he states with a genuine smile on his face. alexis' face lights up a bit as he says that ,"exactly!"

-

matt looks at alexis closely. girls like her are not usually his type, but she's insanely pretty. he also likes how she sees beauty inside a creature that other people would call ugly and disgusting. he admits to himself that he's kinda attracted to her but there's just something inside of him that warns him about her. that's why he decides to end the conversation and enjoy the night and ignore her as good as possible.

"imma go back inside", matt mumbles and stands up, after he put out his cigarette. he doesn't even wait for an answer and just goes back to his brothers.
