"uhmm...", alexis still doesn't know what to answer.

"just say it already!", matt visibly gets annoyed now, because he just wants an answer. at this point he doesn't really care if she says no, he just doesn't want to be ignored.

"no", she forces herself to say. she speaks so quietly, that matt almost doesn't hear her.

"didn't hurt, right?", he replies and gives her a light smile, as a sign that he isn't mad and respects her decision, stands up and walks back outside.

"kinda did hurt", alexis speaks to herself quietly and doesn't notice that it was loud enough for matt to hear it. he stops for a second, thinking if he wants to ask why, but he just continues to go back in his corner on the balcony.

-

"that's ridiculous!", nick exclaims, after alexis and mandy declined the boys offer to drive them home, even though he's staying with ian tonight. "i agree", chris says and looks at matt, waiting for him to say anything.

"if you're not getting in the car, i'll run you over with it", he says jokingly and gets punched in the arm by alexis in response: "but didn't you drink today?" - "mostly water!"

after a 10 minute long discussion, the girls finally agree to be driven home by matt and chris.

-

"i'm lowkey terrified",  chris admits as they're driving through south los angeles. the whole time he looks out the window and observes the neighborhood. "shut up", mandy laughs.

"what's going on there?", chris asks as matt slows down and finally stops the car.

there are multiple police cars, blocking the street the girls live on. "seems to be serious", matt says as he rolls down his window, because one police officer approaches their car.

"good evening, guys. you have to drive in here?", the police officer asks friendly. matt nods. "i'm really sorry but you can't."

alexis leans forward to speak to the officer: "why? we live there." he looks at her and seems to be genuinely sorry. "we are not allowed to let anybody in or out. and i'm also not allowed to talk about it yet but...", he stops for a second and looks around to make sure nobody else hears him, "we have a little 'gang problem' here. it's just for your safety. please find a place to sleep tonight. it will take a while."

"alright", matt answers, "thank you." the officer nods: "drive safely and a have a good night."

matt starts the car and turns it as he says: "you're definitely staying with us tonight."

-

"make yourself at home", matt says, as the boys lead the girls into their living room. alexis and matt sit down on the couch, but chris and mandy already make their way to his bedroom: "we're going to bed!"

"good night i guess", matt laughs, even though they already disappeared downstairs.

it's awkwardly silent for a couple of minutes.

"are you tired?", matt asks suddenly. alexis shakes her head: "not really, are you?"

"no", he replies, "wanna watch a scary movie?"

"only if you wanna watch me shitting my pants", she answers jokingly.

matt laughs: "i'd love to see that!"

-

as alexis and matt watch the movie, they're not only scared. they also laugh about themselves when they scream or flinch in fear. both of them enjoy watching the movie together, even though they're sitting on the couch with an unnecessary big space between them.

"paranormal stuff is just not for me", alexis admits, as the movie comes to an end. "yeah, it's way scarier that just massacre.", matt agrees and laughs.

"if you wanna go to bed, you can sleep in mine. i'll just stay on the couch tonight.", he says, as he already lays down, ready to sleep.

"thank you, but...", she stops for a second, "but can i sleep on the couch too?"

he grins gleefully: "too scared to sleep alone?"

alexis just flips him off as a response. "come on", he laughs, stands up and takes his blanket, "let's go to bed, it's more comfortable."

alexis follows him into his bedroom and gets goosebumps as soon as she enters it. she's already been here before and matt doesn't have a clue. she feels so guilty that it physically hurts, but she tries to act normal. she still stands in the doorway, as matt already lays down on the left side of the bed. "you sleep standing up or what are you waiting for?", he asks sarcastically and tabs the right side of the bed.

"sorry", she mumbles and lays down next to him.
she snuggles up in her blanket and sighs. she feels uncomfortably comfortable. even though everything is fucked up, matt's presence gives her peace.

"goodnight, julie", matt says as he's already falling into sleep.

"goodnight, matt."

-

"wake up, bitch!", mandy shouts as she throws herself on alexis, who's wide awake now.

"dude", she grunts and sits up, after mandy rolled over to matt's side of the bed. he isn't in the bedroom anymore. "chris and matt made coffee and breakfast. come on!", mandy exclaims and rushes into the kitchen. alexis follows her and finds all three sitting at the kitchen table, already eating and drinking their coffee.

"good morning, you look horrible!", chris laughs, pours coffee in an empty cup and gives it to her.

"good morning", matt says and smiles, "i hope you're hungry."

-

"you're giving me shit for dating chris and at the same time you're fucking matt?", mandy laughs and punches her friend jokingly in the side.

after breakfast, matt and chris wanted to drive them home, but this time, the girls insisted to walk. so now the girls are currently walking home, as alexis has to defend herself: "i didn't fuck him and i'm not going to."

"but you want to fuck him, right?", mandy smirks as if she already knows the answer. "you're fucking annoying, mandy.", she replies and rolls her eyes.

"we tell each other everything.", mandy says after a minute of silence. alexis nods: "of course, why?"

"because you didn't tell me that you were with matt after the house party", she says slightly disappointed. alexis huffs: "yeah, cause it's not that big of a-"

mandy stops abruptly. "fuck lexi, stop fucking lying or i'll knock your teeth out right now!", she exclaims jokingly angry. alexis sighs: "okay, you're right."

the girls proceed to walk home as alexis tells mandy what happened in the night of the house party and the morning after.

"so you like him, but you said no when he asked you out? what the fuck?", mandy asks confused.

"i will not make the same fucking mistake like you", she explains, "and i don't want anyone to get... feelings."

"feelings? so you wouldn't deny that you might fall in love with that boy?", mandy can't believe what her friend said, because since they know each other alexis never had a crush on a boy or something like that.

"no, i wouldn't. can we talk about something else now?"
