after they packed all their stuff and loaded it into the van, they carried the still unconscious alexis onto the backseat.chris and mandy make sure that nothing in nathan's grandmas house looks like murder, before they join the others into the van and start to drive back home.
"she still asleep?", chris asks, who's sitting on the passenger seat next to mandy.
"yeah", matt says quietly as he caresses her head softly. "we should get rid of our 'trash' then", ian suggests and everyone agrees. not even five minutes later, the reach a bridge and mandy stops the car. there is no one in sight and it's still dark outside.
"i'm gonna do it", matt says determined, but chris shakes his head. "they're heavy as shit. and you really don't have to do this", chris says, but matt is stubborn: "i should end what i started", he mumbles as he gets out of the car and opens the trunk.
"same", ian states and follows him.
ian and chris put bricks inside the tarps, so the bodies won't swim on the surface of the water. ian and matt lift them together out of the trunk and throw them over the railing.
"ian.. you know that you saved my life, right?", matt asks quietly as they both lean on the railing to look down at the river.
"yeah. i still feel like shit though.", ian replies honestly, "how do you feel?"
"i'm scared of myself. not because i killed someone, but because i just feel relieved.", matt answers and sighs. "that's legit, though. he would've killed all of us and kinda hunted us like prey", ian laughs and puts his hand on matt's shoulder.
"we did the right thing, didn't we?", matt asks after a few seconds of silence.
"yes. that's why we have to get over it and move on.", ian says and goes back into the van.

"my arm hurts", alexis whines suddenly after a few more minutes of driving. "oh hey, you're awake!", matt exclaims.
alexis opens her eyes and slowly sits up, since she was laying with her head on matt's lap the whole time: "i'm confused as fuck." she yawns and then looks at the big cut on her upper left arm.
"we're gonna figure out how to fix this properly", matt says as he notices her frown. she nods slightly and sighs: "he's dead, right?"
"yeah", matt says softly and puts his hand on her cheek, "you'll never have to worry about him again."
"thank god. but how did he die?", she asks confused.
"uhm", matt starts to speak, but he hesitates to answer her question for a second, "i.. shot him. kinda..."
"not kinda. he shot him in his head and it was perfect", chris adds as he turns around to look at them. alexis' eyes widen: "don't do this ever again, but... thank you."
her eyes start watering. she feels like a thousand emotions at the same time and it's overwhelming. she's relieved, she feels safe, but she feels bad for matt. she feels guilty. it must've been traumatic for him.
"don't cry", matt whispers as he wraps his arms around her to pull her into a hug, "why are you crying?"
"you saved me and healed my trauma, and i'm so sorry that you felt like you had to this..", she starts to explain, not caring about everyone hearing the conversation.
"i didn't feel like i had to. i wanted an end of this shit. i want you to be happy and feel safe, and i want you alive. i would do this over and over again. please stop crying, its all going to be fine!", matt tries to calm her down and it works.
