Hello... sorry to everyone that was reading 'caged bird'.

Ages: Mikey: 11, Donnie: 12, Raph: 13, Leo: 14

Introduction, Splinter speaks:

After a strange event one night, a mysterious energy is left floating in the air. No one felt it but a select few. Those few happened to be the king, but each came from a different dimension. When the stars aligned, they each disappeared from their respective realms, and collided into one being, the Zentai.

The Zentai was a beast of great power, ruling over all the realms, until one day he vanished, leaving no trace, and the realms fell into disorder. Jealousy ravaged them all, and they ended up splitting their United realms into six separate universes, hoping to one day be reunited. But until then, they are ruled by the Shison, descendants of Zentai.

Certain Shison inherited the Zentai's magic: the ability to control elements. But more than one of the same elements should never come in contact. That is where there is a drainage system, one that often leaves those affected by it as living corpses, for it could drain their soul, if the connection is that strong.

When a Shison comes of age, he will take over the rule of his realm. And hopefully peace will be restored, before the quarreling realms destroy it all.

Book 1: 水 (Mizu) water

He slowly peeked through the kitchen door. The occasional sound of metal clanging against glass telling him that someone was eating. He pushed the door open further, and squinted his eyes when it creaked. 'Good goin' Raph! Now he knows you've been spying on him...'

The turtle, wearing nothing but a blue hoodie, turned around. His sapphire blue eyes penetrated into Raph's emerald green ones, and he blinked at the uncomfortable feeling that passed through his body.

"Hey Leo..." he said slowly, but casually. Leo didn't say anything in return, only motioned for Raph to fully enter the kitchen. He glanced at the microwave, and read the time. 2:35 a.m. How typical of Leo to be here. His brother often became feverish at night, although for no good reason. The healers could never pinpoint exactly why this happened. Not even their egghead brother, Donnie, could.

"Are you feeling okay?" He asked, pulling up a chair so he could sit by his brother. Leo simply shook his head, his sweating and slightly shivering body leaning hard on the back of the chair.

"Do you want to go to the nurses?" He asked again, even though he knew Leo would object. He would already be in the office if anything happened, which led Raph to press on why he was in the kitchen rather than already asleep on one of the overly covered beds. Yet again, Leo shook his head.

That meant that he'd have to care for his brother himself. "Look me in the eyes," he instructed. He needed to make sure that they weren't too clouded over. Leo acted as if he hadn't heard Raph, and continued staring off into the dark hallway.

Raph moved in front of Leo, and again, demanded; "look me in the eyes." This time, Leo complied. But when the turtle looked up, Raph saw that he was crying.

"Oh..." Raph said as Leo pressed against him. Raph returned the hug as Leo silently cried into his shell. At the corner of his eye, Raph could see that Leo had covered his hands with the sleeve of the hoodie. He also saw a faint blue glow underneath.

"Leo?" Raph questioned, but the blue-cladded turtle simply pushed in closer, and that's when the sleeve fell off his hand. Leo's hand had streaks of glowing blue light flooding up it. The light began at the palm of his hand, and ended at the wrist. It looked like water, almost. And that's when Raph knew what was going on.
