As the pale morning light peeked through the frost-kissed windows, you found yourself braving the frigid winter morning, bundled up in layers, preparing to conquer the layer of snow blanketing your electric car. Your breath formed small clouds in the crisp air, and your gloved hands diligently worked to clear the windshield. The chill bit at your cheeks, but you were used to the routine.
As you focused on your task, a voice, smooth as silk, interrupted your solitude. "Need a hand there?" Turning around, you were met with the warm smile of your next-door neighbour, "Mr.Grim- no. Hi Jimin '' You'll get used to it one day "you thought. You see him approaching you wearing a long black puffer jacket and a matching red beanie and mittens.
"Need a hand?" he called out, a playful smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
You turned to see him, grateful for the interruption from the bone-chilling task at hand. "Sure, if you're offering. This frost is relentless."
Jimin joined you, his gloved hands expertly handling the scraper. "Let me take care of this for you." He worked diligently, the conversation flowing easily as he effortlessly scraped away the frost, occasionally casting you a teasing grin.
While scraping, he couldn't help but notice your attire—a coat, gloves, and headphones. "Aren't you cold?" he asked, a hint of concern in his voice.
You chuckled, a playful glint in your eyes. "I grew up in Canada, this is a piece of cake."
"Canada?" Jimin raised an eyebrow. "Guess you built up an immunity to the cold."
"It comes with time," you replied with a grin, adjusting your headphones. The air between you two was lighthearted and easy.
Curious, he asked, "What do you do for a living? I don't think I've ever asked."
You humbly shared, "I'm a lawyer, CEO of the legal affairs at a gaming company my friend started." Jimin raised his eyebrows, clearly impressed. "Well, that sounds like a high-paying job to be able to afford a penthouse," he remarked.
Naturally, you returned the inquiry, "And what about you? Let me guess, a heartthrob CEO with a good game up his sleeves young and dashing and have many ladies lined up at your door, some might even dare to call you a playboy." Your teasing tone made Jimin chuckle.
He admitted, "You're right about the CEO part, and the heartthrob—I mean, look at me, who wouldn't fall for me?" He chuckled softly, revealing a self-awareness beneath his confident exterior. "I took over my father's company."
Your curiosity deepened, "Old money, huh? What made you take over?"
Jimin smirked, "I did it to let my parents rest, but it's not really my passion." Intrigued, you pressed further, "So, what is your passion then?"
"We're both going to be late at this rate," he countered with a smirk, hinting that the conversation could continue another time. You exchanged goodbyes, driving off to work with the promise of more intriguing chapters unfolding between you and Jimin in the icy world of January.
"If I tell you now we won't have another conversation starter" he grinned, hinting at the time "Now if you excuse me my heartthrob ceo self is needed at work i'll take my leave then" he said then got into his car and started the engine. As you pulled away, Jimin leaned out of his car window with a mischievous grin. "Next time, let me know if you need help thawing out anything else," he quipped, a twinkle in his eye.
You laughed, shaking your head. "Maybe I'll take you up on that offer. See you around, Jimin."
He winked before driving off.
