The next morning, at the ungodly hour of five am, your doorbell rang persistently. Groaning, you stumbled out of bed in your mismatched V-line striped shirt and black pajamas, your hair sticking out in all directions. As you opened the door, you were ready to unleash a tirade on whoever dared disturb your precious sleep.
To your surprise, there stood Jimin, looking annoyingly perky for that hour. "What the hell, Jimin?" you mumbled, squinting against the unexpected brightness of the morning.
"It's a new era!" he declared, a mischievous glint in his eyes. You resisted the urge to scream at him.
"I didn't mean starting today," you grumbled, trying to push him away from your doorway.
Jimin, however, wasn't easily deterred. "This is for your own benefit," he insisted.
"Why are you even here?" you whined, half-asleep and thoroughly annoyed.
"I'll get you Frosties," he offered, a sly grin forming on his face.
You stopped in your tracks, considering the deliciousness of Frosties. "No, you won't bribe me with Frosties," you said, trying to sound firm.
Jimin raised an eyebrow. "Come on, you've got to start now."
"No," you replied defiantly.
"Fine," he sighed dramatically, "I'll give you an hour and a half of extra sleep if you agree."
Your eyes widened at the tempting offer. "Really?"
Jimin nodded. "But after that, the new era begins."
As Jimin left to get ready, you hurried to get dressed, washed your face and brushed your teeth and stumbled back to your bed to continue your beauty sleep. An hour and a half later, he returned to find you clad in your running clothes — leggings, a blue pullover, and a matching hat. He couldn't help but smile at the sight.
"Goodness now I know how my mom must've felt when she woke me and my brother up for school" he admits. "I'll give you five more minutes because you're cute," he muttered to himself, scrunching his nose as he watched you sleep.
When you finally stirred, he greeted you with a mischievous grin. "Good morning again, Y/N."
You groaned, rubbing your eyes. "So, that wasn't a nightmare?" You asked as you finally took in his appearance. He's wearing a black windbreaker with coloured sleeves alongside a pair of black joggers and some white sneakers.
Jimin smirked teasingly. "Trust me, if I were in it, it would be far from that."
He handed you a water bottle. "Are you ready to officiate the new you?"
"I am having mixed feelings about this," you replied sarcastically as you both got ready to leave.
The morning sun began to cast a warm glow over the city as you and Jimin navigated the park during your morning run. Your legs protested, and you could feel the strain in your muscles, but Jimin's encouragement kept you going. The rhythmic sound of your sneakers hitting the pavement echoed through the quiet park.
You tied your hair into a ponytail, adjusting the hat on top of it as Jimin suggested taking the stairs instead of the elevator for today. You groaned, "I didn't pay thousands of dollars for that penthouse only to take the stairs. Are you crazy? I run out of breath after walking up three stairs."
Jimin laughed, "That's because you're not active. I promise it'll get easier the more you do it."
"More I do it? I'll have jelly legs by the next 60 minutes," you retorted.
"60 minutes? We have the whole day ahead of us; your jelly legs could give up on walking by then," Jimin teased.
"Why did I agree to this?" you muttered with a defeated sigh.
