The crisp February air hung in the atmosphere, carrying a hint of anticipation as you meticulously arranged fairy lights around her balcony. You were lost in the rhythmic pattern of stringing them across the railings, creating a warm and inviting glow that contrasted with the cool winter night.
The setting was idyllic; a small table adorned with flickering candles, plush chairs that seemed to invite relaxation, and a cozy couch strategically placed for stargazing as rows of colourful pillows are placed on it. You couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment as she stood back to admire your work.
As you arranged the fairy lights in a delicate cascade, a voice from the neighbouring balcony interrupted her concentration. you turned to find Jimin, leaning casually against the railing with an intrigued smile.
"Hey there, neighbour! What are you up to?" Jimin called out, his eyes gleaming with genuine curiosity.
You grinned, momentarily pausing in your work. "Oh, just giving my balcony a little makeover. I figured it's time since spring is just around the corner."
Jimin nodded appreciatively. "Looks great! I've been meaning to do something about mine too."
"You definitely should! It looks haunted." You replied playfully. "How's the house coming along for you?" Jimin asks while rolling his eyes at your remark.
With a satisfied smile, you shared, "Very well, thank you. The bookshelf you built me is fantastic—all my books are neatly arranged. I'm thinking about hosting a housewarming party soon."
Jimin raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "A housewarming party? Am I invited?" he teased, a playful grin tugging at his lips.
You responded with a mock gasp, "Invited? Oh, I don't know. It's a very exclusive event, you know." Pausing for effect, she added with a twinkle in her eye. He then replies with a grin "Looks like your "Stalker Girl" persona didn't do enough research to know I am actually the life of the party"
"What can I say your grim reaper of a fit did not give off any signs of life so I can't be blamed" you remarked. "But since you're so eager to prove it to me I guess I'll just have to invite you," you say while shrugging your shoulders.
"After all why wouldn't I invite my favourite neighbour ever?" he responds with "Technically I am your ONLY neighbour on this floor". As you make your way back to your door you throw him a wink saying 'Party's at six next week and don't worry I'll make sure to save you a seat" with that Jimin smiles acutely to himself as he also enters his apartment through his glass sliding doors.
