A bustling town
That is my home town simply
Everyone is always doing something
The Bauers raising there new calfs
Even the Müllers with there new family members
People are always doing something
Everything was perfect
Then the Great War started
Nothing seemed to change
Just a new topic for everyone to talk about
Then the newspapers started to talk about it
Promising adventure and glory
For our names to be remembered forever
Sung in songs for the rest of time
Like the hero's in our story's as kids
It was like a wave
It spread like wildfire through my school
All of us were talking about
Who was going to join
Three of my friends were
Ben M, Klaus B, and Leon G
We were basically the four musketeers
If most of us were going
All of us were going
The building was crowded with boys
Tall to short, skinny to fat
All young, never old
I signed my papers and was handed my uniform
All before I could say good bye
First time leaving my bustling town
For the glory, for the fame
For the unknown yet to be explored
First time going away from home
