Only after a couple hours we had arrived
To my new home with men
Men who turned into my brothers
We were taught fast and we learned quick
We learned who was weak
who was strong
And those who were cowards
The outside seemed out of reach
Like there was nobody for us
Nobody but us
Only after a week was I handed my rifle
She was beautiful
She was mine till my time ended
Some could not handle the sounds
The rifles scared them
The ones who could not overcome it went home
Branded as cowards for leaving
I ran through grass
Crawled through mud
And slept in snow
I learned everything I needed to know
What I would for survival
It was to no use we all felt
We would be back home before next Christmas
Only after three months did we go home
Fastest three months of my life
We marched through the town
All smiles, some tears
We were waved through, hailed as hero's
Once a week had passed we left
To the front lines
Oh the songs we sung
