Kashvi's POV
How dare she call me a heartless and terrible person?
Who is she to question my relationship?
Is she even aware of how much I loved Aakash? I loved him with all my heart.
My head is on the verge of exploding. It feels like my mind is not in my control anymore and is acting and building the assumptions that Vriddhi hurled at me a few minutes ago.
I made an effort to find my way through the congested hallway that leads to the restroom, moving quickly and agitatedly. My vision is almost blurry now due to the glossy layer that the tears have formed. Ah, stupid tears.
In an attempt to walk in an accelerated manner, I twisted my leg and collided with someone. Bloody heels.
Can this night get worse? I am so done with everything and everyone.
He wrapped his strong, firm arms around me to prevent me from falling to the ground, while my arms instinctively grabbed the shirt's material over that guy's biceps.
I slowly opened my eyes and gazed at how my body was clinged to him.
I should probably start a book named, "Hundred Different Ways to Embarrass Yourself in Public."
"Be careful. You might hurt yourself." Detaching his hold from me, he spoke in a voice laced with concern.
I bet he is thinking of me as some drunk idiot who is bumping into random people.
"I'm so sorry. Thank you for helping. I appreciate it." Without lifting my eyes from the ground, I mumbled the words. I am not even sure if the words came out properly and clearly.
I don't have the courage to lift my eyes and thank him properly because my tears are ready to flow out of my eyes at any moment now.
No Kashvi!
Hold yourself. You can't afford to show your tears like this in public. Especially not to the ones who don't deserve to witness them.
As I am not in the right state right now to initiate a conversation with him, I hurriedly make my way to the restroom.
After nearly fifteen minutes I came out and re-joined Aakriti at the center hall where the celebration was going in full swing and energy.
"Sure you want to stay? Warna we can go home if you don't feel okay here" She again tried to confirm if I was okay to attend the remaining hours here.
Giving her a side hug and placing a soft kiss on her cheeks I replied, "Your best friend is as strong as a rock. You are aware that few evil words coming out of that Chihuahua's mouth cannot break me. It's just the mention of that pig which instigated me."
Even a Chihuahua is cute.
"Pig?" She asked.
"Pig Aakash! Who else?" I answered while scrunching my face.
"You are surely a masterpiece to every time come up with such horrendous nicknames." She laughed while sparing a glance at me.
Since we both were not in the mood to risk ourselves by consuming even a tiny shot of liquor, we made our way to the food court.
For the next thirty minutes, Aakriti and I completely immersed ourselves somewhere in the food counters. I completely forgot my awful mood as soon as the delicious aroma of food hit my nostrils.
Looking at the way we both were munching at the counters, It felt as if we both were starving for ages and got this golden opportunity today to quench our thirst of hunger. I don't think there was a single food item left which we didn't devour tonight.
Following the most satisfying and competitive eating performance of our lives, we walked through the crowd once more into the celebration hall while leisurely peering at the wide array of food counters and stalls that we had just barraged a few minutes before.
"Oye, Aakriti, and Kashvi! Finally, I found you guys" A male voice halted our steps.
We turned around, following the source of the voice. "I know I look stunning but that doesn't mean you both will gawk at me like that. Wait! Don't' tell me you guys don't remember me!" Narrowing his eyes doubtfully, he asked.
Honestly? No, I don't.
Now please don't charge at me guys. I've already confessed about my bad memory in front of you all.
"Dev! Seriously have you undergone some plastic surgery? You look so different." Besides me, Aakriti shrieked hushedly, excitement lacing all over her face. Is she all right?
I think I do know him. Dev Ahuja.
Dev was a sweet, timid, and ingenuous kid of our class. He has grown up now into a gorgeous young man.
"Puberty indeed hit you with a truck I guess" I spoke, squinting my eyes at him playfully.
"I've always been drop-dead gorgeous. You guys never noticed and appreciated my beauty." Chuckling, he replied.
"So how's the night going so far?" he further probed.
"Apart from the food you ask? Bohot bekar." In an exasperated tone, Aakriti replied.
"I second that" He nodded, shifting his gaze towards her.
"Dev you are here! Mai das minute se parking me tera wait kar raha hu" A manly voice interrupted our conversation.
"Sorry, I was on my way to the parking only but bumped into them and totally forgot that you were waiting there for me." Sticking out his tongue and rubbing the side of his neck, he replied.
No!
Somebody tell me this is a dream. A nightmare to be precise.
Awik Chauhan is standing in front of me.
What is he doing here? It's a school reunion dumbo! Why will he be not here?
A living Satan in the form of a human.
"Hi Aakriti. How is life going at your end?" he spoke while greeting her.
"Finally! The captain is here." She replied to him with a smile, side-eyeing me the entire time. I will rip off her eyes.
Yes, he was the captain of our school cricket team.
"Of course! The party will be incomplete if the captain will not mark his presence." He stated while wiggling his eyebrows playfully.
Somebody tell him this is a party we are talking about, not a cricket match which will be incomplete without his presence. Bevakoof.
"Hey Bunny! I hope you remember me?" feigning innocence he voiced while shifting his gaze towards me, his signature smirk proudly resting on his face now.
Not this again.
Hey beautiful people!
Awik and Kashvi finally met after ages!!
A new character, Dev has also marked his entry today.
