Shehnaaz roared, she felt like Sidharth was completely ignoring her business acumen and mocked her intent of making a favour on his family which bruised her.
Tears didn't stop flowing down her cheeks as she sat on the bed, not being able to stand anymore.
Sidharth realised the magnitude of hurt that he must have put her through. In the heat of the moment, he had spoken hurtful words which he did not mean. Never in his dreams had he thought that he would question Shehnaaz's business acumen. However, he had indirectly done so and the damage was caused. She was on the verge of breaking. He realised that he overreacted and in the spur had hurt his girl more than she could endure that moment. He hated himself for doing that.
He groaned "ugghh!" covering his face with his palms as he looked up.
He slowly walked to the edge of the bed where Shehnaaz sat. He bent to her level and tried to lift up her chin but she resisted.
He knew he had screwed up and had to work a lot if he wanted to be forgiven. It wasn't going to be easy but he was ready to put in his efforts. And efforts is what matters more in sustaining a relationship.
Sidharth sat down on the floor near Shehnaaz's feet despite his hurt leg. She immediately gasped "Sidharth, what the hell? Utho!"
Their fight was one & him sitting down on the floor despite a hurt leg was another that she was not able to take though she was upset. She couldn't let him hurt himself more on the leg that he already had a lot of pain.
But Sidharth stayed put and didn't move at all. Shehnaaz opened her mouth to persuade him but looking at his face words couldn't come out of her mouth.
Sidharth slowly took her hands in his only to be pushed away. He tried to hold her hands again but she pulled her hands back the second time too. So he rested his hands on her lap and leaned his head on them. Shehnaaz was not expecting that, she was deeply hurt to be allowing him to mollyfy her by being in her close contact. But she found herself powerless to push him away when he leaned his head in her lap.
"Baby, I'm sorry" he said it almost in a whisper.
Shehnaaz stayed quiet.
"I'm a jerk. I shouldn't have said all that to you. You are one of the best business women I have known baby. I really had no intention of doubting your business acumen. I know that if you have decided on something bohat kuch soch samajh ke decision liya hoga tune but I somehow lost it. Trust me, I did not mean one word of what I said"
He lifted his head up from her lap but retained his hands there. Shehnaaz looked away but didn't push him either.
"Jab tune bola I want Magnitude aur voh bhi bina pitch sune ya dekhe you were ready to offer the deal, it felt like tu yeh sab hum pe favour kar rhi hai because you want to help Jag's company scale better just because he's my brother in law. Such a big deal as the Pioneer Marriott resort voh bhi Maldives wala is an easy way to become prominent in the industry so it felt like thali mei paros k voh de rhi thi tu hume just because we are seeing eachother"
He paused to see a completely silent and calm Shehnaaz whiff off her tears. Sidharth touched her cheek to wipe away the tear stains and as soon as he did that, her tears overflowed.
"Baby please, abhi bol rah hu sun bhi toh. Don't cry meri jaan. I'm not justifying my behaviour or words, bas tujhse share kar rah hu jo bhi mere dimag mei uss waqt chal rah tha. And I know I was wrong. Maaf kar de yar please..."
Shehnaaz still stayed quiet but had calmed down a lot. Her breathing had become normal as she sat with puffed red eyes. She now understood where Sidharth's temper had come from.
