She felt someones presence standing beside her bed. As she opened her eyes she saw a shadow with sword in his hand. He raised his sword high. He was about to kill her. She rolled to the other side of bed, and his sword went deep inside the bed. She was scared. He pulled his sword out and glared at her. It was dark so she can't see who he was. She managed to run out from her room. She can't think of anything at that time. She ran towards the Demon King room. She opened the door and went inside. The room was dark. The moon light was coming through his bellcony window. She stepped close to him and leaned to his ear.
" Demon King....." She whispered. With a jerk Demon King grabbed her by neck. She smiled. The Demon King was surprised that she was smiling, not scared.
" What are you doing here?" He asked. He looked unhappy. She knew that he was mad at her for coming at his room at mid night. She apologized.
" There is someone in my room. Who tried to kill me." She said, worried. He looked at her eyes and realized she wasn't lying.
"But who?....." He asked. He was angry." Come with me." He said. He stood up from his bed and went out of his room. She followed. They both went to her room. The Demon King was still in his night suit. He opened the door and turned on the light. There was no one.
" There is no one here..." He said. Then, She walked towards her bed, and pulled the blanket away. The sword mark on the bed was still there. The Demon King was shocked.
" So someone did came here to kill you." He said.
" But who would do that." She said confused. _Demon King mansion is huge and full of demons, no one can come inside, undetected.....So, it might be someone from inside._ She thought. She looked at him to see if he was thinking the same.
" Come with me. You are going to sleep in my room." He said.
"What! In your room." She said surprised. He looked at her.
" Yes! As you wish." She said and lowered her head.
She went to his room with him. As they reached she looked around his room to find some place to sleep, except the bed. The Demon King went to his bed to sleep. The lights were off and only the moon light was coming from the window. She sat on the couch in the room and decided to sleep there. She fall asleep after some while.
She woke up in the morning. Stretched her body. And looked for the Demon King. He was not on his bed. She realized that he was taking a bath. He came out a few while later. He was wearing his usual dress. He saw her but gave no important and went out of the room. She decided to take a bath as well. After she had her bath. She came out of the bathroom room and opened the Demon Kings closet. She decided to wear one of his dress and picked a Black dress. She came to the room mirror and saw herself in the mirror. She looked cute. She tighed a ponytail to her dark black hairs. She smelled her dress.
" I smell like Demon King." She said to herself and blushed in happiness.
After that she went out. She entered the throne room. Thomas was there standing beside the thrown. He was shocked to see her in Demon King's dress. The Demon King himself was surprised by that. He didn't expect such thing from her.
" Why is she wearing your dress your highness." Said Thomas. He want to know what was going on.
" She is a human so it's fine if she wear my dress, in that way she would have demon scent. Other demons won't think of her as human. " Said the Demon King.
" Yes indeed. I scent just like you." She said and smiled. " Thomas... Can we..." Before she could finish Thomas said.
"No I won't take you to the garden.... By the way you scent like demon so you can go yourself."
" Okay then I'm going, see you later." She said and left.
" What the hell is she!" Said Thomas.
_I don't know myself._ thought the Demon King and smiled. He was shocked when he realized that he was smiling, surprised that she made him smile. _There is something special about her. Just don't know what?_
She spent her most of time in the garden. The magic of garden make her feel happy and relieved. She also met demons in the mansion. Mostly, they all were surprised to see her wearing Demon King dress. She was not afraid of demons anymore since she knew that the Demon King won't let anyone kill her. She was walking toward her room when she met the Demon King.
" Where are you going?" He said.
" To my room." She said.
" You are going to stay in my room until I don't find out who attacked you."
" Well! Then I shall go to your room. " She said and smiled. He looked away. She walked towards his room. She went inside the room and sat on the bed. She picked a pillow and smelled. _It has his scent._ she thought and blushed. She placed the pillow back and took a nap. When she woke up it was night. She felt hungry so she decided to go to the kitchen. She saw five maids working in the kitchen. She asked one of them what they were doing. The same maid who serve her in her room. The maid was aware that she was a human. The Demon King told her to take care of her so she do everything she say. The maid told her they were preparing dinner for her.
" Can you tell me your name." She said.
" My name.... Erin. " Said the maid.
" Erin... That's a nice name. " She said and smiled. Her warm smiled made Erin blush.
" I have to go.....I have to do some work." Said Erin and left.
After Erin went back to her work she looked once around the place and left the kitchen. She saw Thomas outside the garden through the window when she was walking to the Demon Kings room. He was standing in silence. He seem lost in some deep thoughts. _I don't know why... But I think the person who attacked me can be Thomas... But why would he do that... I don't know.... After all, The Demon King would find out the real person soon._ She thought and turned back.
She was going towards the throne room. But she didn't enter the throne room, since she met Erin at the door. She told her to come down stairs at the dinning table. Downstairs, she ate her dinner and went to the Demon Kings room. She was standing outside the room door thinking if the Demon King would be inside or not. She opened the room. The Demon King was standing Infront of the mirror in his night suit. She went in and sat on the couch where she slept yesterday. The Demon King went to his bed and told her to turn off the lights. she did as he said and went back to her couch to sleep. Soon they both were asleep.
The Next Day, she woke up and didn't find the Demon King on his bed. She took a bath. Then she took an other dress from the Demon King closet. This time she had a white dress from the closet. The white dress look lovely on her. _I love it when I wear his dress._ she thought to herself.
She went to the throne room. Thomas was unhappy to see her. Like usual she said good morning to both and told them she was going to the garden. After she left Thomas turned to the Demon King with a worried look. He was looking down at the carpet of the throne room.
" Your highness can I ask you something." Said Thomas.
" What is it? "
" How long is she going to stay here."
" What do you mean. "Said the Demon King in a angry way.
" Um... Well I...."
" What?"
" I meant to say was. She is a human and soon the other demons would know about it. I don't think it's good for us to have a human in the mansion. " He said.
" That's not your problem." He said. The truth was, he didn't know himself why he had her here.
She was sitting near the Fountan as usual moving her hand in its cold water. She saw Demon King coming her way. She stood up and looked at him in surprise.
" Why are you looking at me like that?" He said.
" Because your looking good."
" You mean hot." He said. She blushed.
" Are you not scared of death." He said after some while.
" I'm but...."
" Are you not scared that I will kill you." He said. She looked at him. There was a long silence.
" Have you made the decision to marry me." She asked.
" What?"
" Are you going to marry me." She repeated.
" I asked you something first.... " He said.
" I want to know my answer then I will answer your question. "
" I will kill you. "
" I have told you before that I would die happily if you want to kill me." She said. There was a long silence then he went back inside the mansion. She kept standing there. Looking at him leave.
At Night, she came inside the room and saw him already present. He went to his bed and she turned off the lights. She went to her couch and slept. In the morning when she woke up. She was surprised. She was sleeping with the Demon King on his bed. Her cheeks turned red. He had picked her from couch at night and took her to his bed. She was embarrassed and want to leave but she didn't. Then she looked at him to see if he was really asleep or not. While looking at him she realized how peaceful he looking while sleeping. The sun rays were coming from the window and everything was looking beautiful. That was the happiest moment of her life. She closed her eyes with a smile on her lips. After a little while he woke up and went to take a bath. For some reason she was unhappy. He came out, he had changed. After he left the room she went to take a bath. She weared his another dress and went out.
At After noon, She was at the garden. When, she saw the red skin demon, again. He was coming her way. She smiled. He came Infront of her and she stood up.
" So, your King's special guest." He said.
" Special guest."
" Other demons says they your a special guest. That's why your wearing a dress just like his."
" Oh! " She smiled and made a laughing sound.
" What happened? "
" Nothing.... Can you tell me what's your name. "
" Alex. "
" You're right Alex. I am special. But not a guest. " She said.
" What do you mean? "
" You would understand." She said. They both start talking and became friends. That's what she thought. He was her friend because he thought she was a Demon like him. Thomas saw her and Alex from the above window. He got worried. He went to the garden. Alex saw him and waved.
" What are you doing here.... Aren't there other things you should take care of. "
" Like what?. "
" Here. " Thomas gave him a list of things that should be done. Alex was unhappy. But he must obey Thomas. No Demon ever refuse to him. That is something she had learned in these few days. After Alex left. She glared at Thomas.
" Why did you do that."
" Idiot... He is a demon. If he found out your a human he will eat you."
" No he won't because I'm Kings special guest."
"Oh! Did he told you that..... He's an idiot." He said.
" I think your more of an idiot than he is. " She said and left.
At Night, she went to sleep again on her couch. The Demon King didn't care and was sleeping on his bed. The lights were off and the room was dark.The moon light was coming from the open bellcony window. She was lying in silence trying to sleep, hours passed. She sat on her couch and looked at the Demon King sleeping. She couldn't sleep so she stood up and went to the bellcony. There were fire flys in the garden. From above they looked like glitter. It was a beautiful view and the moon light made it even more magical. She looked at the sky. It was cloudy. The sky was starless.There was just a half moon. She felt a blow of cold breeze. She shivered. It was the beginning of winter. Her favorite season. But she didn't knew that this winter was going to bring pain to many happy life's because of her.
