14.

     I woke up quite late, it was early noon by then. I stood up from my couch, and went to take a bath. Erin has placed my breakfast on the table. Maybe Demon King had told her to, since I wasn't quite healed from Thomas poison. I had my breakfast and went out of the room. For some reason the environment of the mansion seemed a little odd. I was having a feeling that some is going to happen. And I was thrilled to find out. After some while I reached near the throne room. Before I could come close. I saw Thomas running, and went straight into the throne room followed by Tom. They both seem to be in a hurry. Maybe there was some sort of emergency in the mansion. I walked Infront of the throne room door. And thought for a moment, whether I should go inside or not. Then I finally decided to go inside and opened the door.
      When I went inside, all the five High Rank Demons were present in the throne room. And it seem they were having a special meeting. I regret the decision to come inside, I immediately turned to leave but I was stopped by Demon King. I turned my face to look at him. I was really confused, why he stopped me. I slowly walked to Demon King while everyone else had there eyes on me, especially Thomas. He seemed as confused as me.
" Yes your highness!" I said and bowed with respect.
" Why did you stopped me?... " I asked.
" I have a work for you... " Said the Demon King.
" A Work!... What type of work?" I asked.
" Thomas!..." Demon King looked at Thomas, and he walked forward to explain me what was going on.
" Well you see, we are here for a special meeting..." Said Thomas, without looking at me. I was really irritated by his attitude. I can't understand why he hate me so much. Just because I'm a human.
" And the reason of this meeting is because one of the kingdom King has planned to attack our mansion." Thomas said, gravely.
" What!" I said, shocked.
" Some how, someone told the King about our location and they decided to attack us.... And there making a big mistake if I say. Since they all are going to be." Said Thomas.
_What! It can't be... What should I do. I can't let them all die. I must plan something to stop this._ I thought, worried.
" We have also came to know that it was planned by there trusted Royal Gard... Nico Warner!" Said Thomas and looked at me.
" Nico! " I was so shocked to hear his name that I couldn't even hide my reaction. _That idiot, he came back again. And this time with an entire army, like really is he insane. He's going to get everyone killed._ I thought.
" Do you know him?" Asked Thomas, curious. His eyes glaring at me.
" ...No, I don't." I said, immediately.
" Oh! Is that so..." He said and leaned close. I looked away.
" Thomas!..." Demon King called his name from behind. And Thomas moved aside. I looked at Demon King as he walked to me.
"....I want you to kill them all." Said the Demon King.
" WHAT! " I said, a bit too loud. My voice echoed in the throne room.
" I can't do that... I'm just a teenage girl, and there an entire army how can I fight them. " I said.
" Do you remember that day. When we bring you back from that boy house, you escaped with. " He asked.
" Y-Yes." I said, nervously.
" Well I saw you kill all the Demons... And they were demons, if you can kill them, then you can also kill humans. And your fight with Frost and Flake showed that your really strong. So it doesn't matter how many they are." He said glaring at me. I silently, gulped.
" So you want me to kill them all..." I asked again.
" Yes indeed..." Said the Demon King.
" But... What if, I find some other way...... So that we don't have to kill them. "
" What! "
" Well I think we can give that a try." Said Alex, on my behalf.
" Yes Your Highness... maybe we can find some other way. " Said Flake.
" Please give her a chance..." Said Frost.
" Well, I do have an idea... And if you allow me. I can start working on it." I said, politely. Demon King glared at me.
"...Fine." Said the Demon King.
" Yes!.... Thank you so much." I said happily.
" What's your plan? " Asked the Demon King.
".... Let me talk to there King... I'm sure I can make them stop this attack. " I said.
" Okay, you can talk to them. But if they refuse, you will immediately kill them all.... Frost and Flake will go with you, to have an eye on you. " He said.
" Okay! " I agreed. After that, the meeting was over and one by one all the High Rank Demons went out of the room.
" Frost and Flake will take you there." Said the Demon King. And Frost and Flake nodded. Three of us walked out of the room. I was excited to meet the King and, also so meet Nico. I am so mad at him for this stupidity.
     It was afternoon. Three of us were walking in the Forest, through an narrow path between the Forest trees. Towards the place were the King has his stay, and his camp. Frost and Flake were walking along me, in complete silence. Then after some time we finally reached our destination. Three of us hid in the bushes and had an eye on the place. There were lots of guards in the place. I spotted Nico. He was talking to some guards. I was furious to see him smiling.
" Okay, Frost and Flake... I'm going!" I said.
" Wait..." They both whispered.
" Why!" I asked and looked at them.
" Do you... Do you think they will listen to you. " Asked Flake.
" What if they attacked you. " Said Frost.
" Don't worry... I will handle it. You both stay here. " I said and walked out of the bushes. I went straight to Nico and punched him hard on his right arm. Nico looked at me, shocked.
" You idiot!..."
".... How did you came here." Asked Nico. The guards gathered around us.
" I want to talk to your King!..." I said.
" Uh!... Umm okay follow me... " He said and started walking. I followed him. All the guards were looking at me. But since Nico was with me, they didn't attack.
        Nico took me to the King. And it was my first time when I saw his King. He was an tall old man, but he didn't look that old. He had white gray hairs and beard, and a kind looking face. I was really delighted to meet him. He welcomed me warmly. It seem like Nico had told him about me.
" It's really nice to meet you, Your Highness." I said, and bowed in respect.
" It's nice meeting you too." Said the King.
" .... Can I say something? "
" Yes... What is it? "
" I want you to stop this attack!"
" What!... Why?" Asked the King, confused. I glared at Nico angrily.
" Nico!... You Idiot Moron..."
" What?... What have I done now..." Asked Nico.
" Wasn't this all to save me... So look I'm Infront of you. No need to attack them anymore. " I said, looking at him.
" Yes, Nico did told me about you. And we did want to save you. But this attack will not stop. " Said the King, gravely.
" What, but why?... And how are you planning to attack them." I asked.
" We are going to use the secret door to get inside the mansion, at night. And then we will attack when they all are asleep. "  Said Nico.
" Well, that's a good plan. And it would have worked if they didn't knew about it." I said.
" What do you mean?" Asked Nico.
" They know about your arrival, and about your secret attack... obviously! It's not a secret anymore."
" But how? " Asked Nico.
" Because there Demons you idiot... " I said and looked at the King. " Your highness, I'm working on a plan to stop Demons from devouring humans. But for that you have to stop this attack."
" Oh, is that so!.... Can you tell me something about your plan. " Asked the King.
" Well the thing is I'm trying to make Demon King fall in love with me. And once he is truly in love with me. I'll make sure that they stop devouring humans..... My plan has been quite effect. Since, I have been staying among demons for quite a long time. And I'm still alive." I said, and looked at Nico. He looked really confused, maybe shocked I guess.
_Oh! poor Nico he might be having difficulty in believing my lie._ I thought and smirked at him.
" Nico, is she telling the truth."  Asked the King.
" Uh... Y-Yes... Yes your highness, she is staying among Demons for a long time. Unharmed. " Said Nico, glaring at me.
" Well, then why did they let you go?" Asked the King.
" I begged them to let me talk to you. So they agreed and let me go. "
" Really! " Nico said, shocked.
" Yes they did... But I have to go back. " I said.
" Your not going back to them. Instead your coming with us. I can't trust your words like that. You have to come with us, and prove that your not tricking us and are honest.... Maybe your lying so that the demons spare your life, and give you your freedom." Said the King, gravely.
" But... I.. I.. " I couldn't say anything. I have no choice but to go with them.
" I'll go with you. But first give me five minutes, and I will be back in a minute." I said.
" Where are you going? " Asked the King.
" You can send Nico with me if you like. So that I won't escape." I said, and smiled at Nico.
     After that King allowed Nico to come with me. And we started walking towards the bushes were Frost and Flake were waiting for me. I have to tell them about everything. So that they can inform Demon King. We reached near the bushes and Nico asked me why I came here. I told him about Frost and Flake. And he agreed to wait for me till I talk to them.
" Frost!... Flake!" I whispered.
" Oh! Sensei you finally came back." Said Flake.
" What happens?" Asked Frost, looking anxious.
" Well, they won't attack."
" Oh Great! " They said in a union, happily. I looked at them with a warm look. They two were looking adorable.
" But..." I said.
" But what?" Asked Flake.
" I can't come back with you. They want me to go with them.... Tell Demon King that I will return back. But it might take me sometime maybe few days, or even a month." I said, gravely. They both looked at me for a while. And the nodded.
" Okay.... Take care of yourself Sensei." Said Frost.
" Bye Sensei...!" Said Flake.
    They both left with a smile on there lips, and I smiled back. I was happy, that they understood the situation and didn't force me to come with them. I returned to Nico and we started walking towards the place were the King was waiting for us. I asked Nico if he will tell anything about this to King. And he said no. At that moment I was really happy to have Nico as my friend.
      At Night, we finally reached the King's mansion. And it was beautiful, but less than the Demon King's mansion. Nico showed me the guest room where I was going to sleep for the night. The room was big, and bed comfortable. It had been long time since I have last time slept on bed. I layed down exhausted and immediately fell asleep. The next morning, I was woken up by a maid. Who told me that the King is waiting downstairs for me in the dinning table. She showed me the way to the dinning room where the King was waiting for me. I hadn't changed my clothes since I didn't get the time.
" Good Morning, Your Highness." I said. I smiled at Nico who was standing beside the King.
"  Good Morning." Said the King. " Did you sleep well?"
" Yes. "
"Come sit, and have breakfast. "
" Thank you. " I sat on the chair Infront me.
" Can I ask you something? "  Asked the King, with a polite smile.
" Yes? "
" This dress that your wearing... Isn't it Demon King's dress?"
" Umm..." I nodded gently.
" So you wear his dresses...?"
" Yes..." I mumbled. My face was red, and for the first time I was feeling embarrassed to wear his dress. The King then started eating while I remain still in my position like a statue.
" Start eating..." Said the King. I looked at the king and nodded.
      The meal was delicious. But I messed the food I used to eat at Demon King's mansion. Soon after I was done eating King told me that he had some important work to do and he will meet me at the library at evening, before sun set. While till then Nico will take care of me and show me around the mansion.
     As we two were walking in the hall alley Nico suddenly stopped. Looked at me with a grave look. Then he looked around to see if someone was near. When he saw that the cost was clear, he grabbed my hand and went into a room few steps away.
" What happened Nico?" I asked.
" Tell me is this all nonsense true. "
" What nonsense?"
" T..That your.... " Before he could finish I cut him off and said.
" Yup!.... It's True..." I said, with a half smile.
" Why!... Why are you doing this?... You can't stay with him. What if he knows about it and kills you? " He said worried. His voice full of emotion. He didn't want to lose me.
" Don't worry, Nico.... Nothing like that will happen." I said and grabbed his hand in mine. He looked at me with a sad look. I know that he's worried about me. But I can't tell him the truth. I can't tell him that I really love Demon King.
" Come on, let's go." He said, and we went out of the room. He was still holding my hand.
       Nico showed me around the mansion and I enjoyed my time with him. The mansion was beautiful but Demon King's mansion was even more beautiful and, at least ten times bigger. I told Nico about it too. Since he hadn't seen the mansion at daytime. I told him about it's magical garden and how everything in the mansion looked amazingly magical. He listened to everything I said and noticed the joy on my face as I talked about it. He might have realized that I have a really good time at Demon King's mansion. Then as we were walking and looking around the mansion. I saw a boy coming our way. He was an handsome blond hair boy. Maybe same age as Nico. Nico bowed Infront of him with respect and I copied him. Maybe he was King's son.
" How are you Nico? And who's this girl with you?" He asked.
" A guest!.... " Said Nico.
" Nice to meet you beautiful... " He said politely, and grabbed my hand gently.
" Your flirty! " I grinned.
" Shush! " Said Nico. Then he grabbed my hand and dragged me away from him. While he kept looking at me leave. He was smiling or maybe smirking.
  _He look even more cute when he smile._ I thought to myself still being dragged by Nico. He took me to the mansion garden. And stopped infront of a fountain. He looked a bit relaxed. Then he glared at me.
" Are you crazy! Why did you said that? "
" Why?... What wrong in that? He _was_ being flirty. "
" Do you have any idea who he was? " He said looking serious.
" No."
" He was King's Son!... "
" Oh!... He's really good looking." I said, smiling. Nico looked at me with a blank look. Then rubbed his forehead with his right hand, looking irritated.
" I don't think, he mind that... He was smiling instead." I said, looking at him with the most innocent way, so that he won't scold me. But I was wrong.
" Next time be careful when you meet him. Also you must apologize to him too." He said, still angry.
" Fine..." I said. " By the way what's his name?"
" James... He's a kind person, just like his father. And a very good friend of mine. "
" Oh. Is that so... "
" Come let's go. " He said and started walking while I followed.
    At Evening, I went to the kitchen, and looked at the maids and cheff making dinner. Everyone was busy with there work. No one asked me why I came there? or what I wanted? They just kept doing there work. I looked around in the kitchen and at the meals which were going to be served Infront of us at dinning table. Then I saw a young girl, making soup. She seem close to my age. I walked to her and asked what she was making? She looked at me with a blank look. Then looked away. Maybe she was shy.
" Hey..." I said.
" Dear ma'am, what are you doing here in the kitchen? You're our guest, you shouldn't be in the kitchen. Do you want something ? "
" Yes. "
" Tell me... And I will bring it for you. "
" I want you. "
"..... I don't understand? " She said puzzled.
" I want to talk to you."
" Sorry, I can't, I'm busy..." She said in an apologizing way.
" It's fine I can wait. But after you're done with your work meet me at my room. " I said and went out of the kitchen.
    As I was walking in the mansion I saw Nico coming my way with an baby girl in his arms, it didn't take me long to know who was her? I ran towards them with Joy.
" Oh My!... Is it Rose. " I asked, and looked at her.
" Yes. I thought you would like to meet her. "
" Awww she look so cute." I said and grabbed her from Nico in my arm. Nico gave me a warm simle and I smiled back.
" Look, I think she recognizes me." Rose was smiling with her his ruby eyes looking at me. I was really happy to see to her. I felt a warm feeling while holding her in my arms. I loved her so much.p
" Ah!... I forgot to ask?.... How is May and Anne? And what about your mother? Are they all okay?" I asked concerned.
" Yes they're fine. Maybe I will take you to meet them. Anne and May would be very happy to see you. " He said.
" Of course, that seem like a wonderful idea. "
     After having dinner I went to my room. And rested. But after some minutes I heard my room door knock. "Come in" I said loudly. While still laying on my bed. Then I heard the door open and I sat up to see who it was. I smiled, when I saw her.
" Oh, you came." I said.
" Yes... I have a message." She said.
" What is it? "
" King, wants to meet you. He is waiting for you in the throne room. Allow me to show you the way."
" Umm, okay... " I said, and we both went out of the room. On our way to the throne I started talking to her.
" What's your name?" I asked.
" Fiona..." She said shyly.
" Your really cute, Fiona. " I complimented her in a friendly way. Fiona had short brown hairs, with green eyes and a kind looking face.
" Thank you."
" How old are you?"
" I'm fifteen."
" Oh so your younger than me."
" How old are you?" She asked me.
" Sixteen."
     Till we reached the throne room she and I had become good friends. She seem more comfortable with me. I was happy to have another friend in the mansion, except Nico. She left, and I went into the room after giving a little knock on the door. When I came inside the room. I was amazed to see how beautiful the throne room was. The King was already present in the room. He smiled when he saw me. I walked to the King, silently.
" Yes, Your Highness." I bowed respectfully.
" Are you aware why I have called you here?" Asked the King, politely.
" Yes. "
" Tell me then, why are you doing this? "
" What do you mean? "
" Why are you willing to marry the Demon King? "
".... Demon King killed my family, and burned my village.... I lost everyone I love. I have no choice. I want to stop this. I believe that maybe I can stop Demons from devouring humans. "
" Oh, but I don't see hate in you. " He said, looking at me. I looked away. " Your not doing this because you hate him. I think there is something your hiding. "
" No... Not at all! " I said, quickly. But I don't think he was convinced.
" You're ready to risk your life for this.... You lived among Demons, who can eat you anytime..... Are you still sure you want to do this? " The King asked, concerned. I think he was worried about me.
" They won't kill me... I know that. Trust me, I will stop this. "
" Okay then." He said. Then as he was about ask me another question. I heard the door open from behind. I turned and saw James came in. He was as surprised to see me as I was to see him. Though he managed to smile at me. I saw this as an opportunity to escape King's questions. I walked to him, and when reached close I said.
" Would you like to have a sword fight with me."
" A sword fight! ..... Well it seems like a wonderful idea. " He said, thoughtfully.
" Great!.... I'll be back. " I said and went out of the room. After few minutes I returned back with Nico's sword. Also Nico came running after me to take it back. But when he entered the throne room, he was stunned to see King and James. He stood still near the door, as he might have ask permission before coming in the throne room. He apologized to the King.
" Shall we start!" I asked James.
" Of course... Father." He looked at the King's direction for permission. The King allowed curious to see my fight with his son.
" Well then, let's start." He said.
" Don't have a lose hand on me, thinking that I'm a girl and won't be able to win from you." I smirked.
" Don't worry... I won't. " He ensured.
     And with that the battle begin. He was fast but his attacks seem predictable. Or maybe was showing himself weak to know about my battling moves. My attacking styles were unique and different. He was unable to understand my attack pattern, but still didn't give up, and kept attacking. I dodged his attacks smoothly. Then I decided to perform my twist tangle. Which was my special technique in which I make the other person's sword fly away in the air and make him fall on his back. First I made his sword fly in the air. Then when he looked up at his sword. I took the advantage of his distraction to make him fall. But to my surprise he was able to stand back by a black flip. And he grabbed his sword back which came right into his hand.  _Oh, impressive!_ I thought surprised. Then the battle continued again. It was really fun having a battle with him. He had really impressive moves. But as usual. Like in every battle of mine I'm the winner. And the same thing happened I soon won the fight and James had to except defeat. The King clapped. And turned to look at him.
" Impressive!... I didn't knew, you were such a good sword fighter. " The King exclaimed.
" Thank you, Your Highness....." I bowed.
" Please allow me to go back to my room. I'm really tired by the battle." I asked for permission. The King nodded gently. And I immediately went out of the throne room. I knew that if I had stayed any longer in the throne room, King might have asked me many questions. So I have to make an escape.
