She was indeed shocked to see the village on fire. But it's not like she can do anything about it. She was surprised that the Demon King didn't waste a single second to destroy this village. And here she thought the Demon King had forgiven.
" Because of one person's mistake he killed the entire village....... It was indeed foolish of me to think that the Demon King would show mercy. After all he's the Demon King. What can you expect from him..... But I'm glad that at least he and his family are safe." She thought.
She sighed and decided to return back. As she was about to leave. She stopped. And looked back at the village. " Lets have a little round around the village." She thought. And started moving towards the village. As she was walking in the village all she can see was fire everywhere. She looked calm. She was unhappy to see the village burn. But since she didn't knew anyone so, she can't be sad or cry for them. The only person she knew there left long ago with his family. And she wish he was safe where ever he went. The only reason she thought to stay in the village was because she hope that maybe she find someone alive. Someone who need her help. She just want to insure herself. As she was walking. She saw something and stopped. She was Looking at a collapsed house. It was the "Royal Guard" family's house.
_I wonder if It was the first house they burned._ She thought to herself. She saw some blue flames at that place. That blue fire was not ordinary because It was Demon's magic fire. She had see some other houses with blue fire on her way. She started thinking if she knows any demon with fire power.
" ALEX... Alex, had fire power." She said to herself. " That means. He had done this..... Well ! He just obeyed his King. What else can he do."
She started walking again. After crossing some burning houses. She suddenly, heard a baby crying. At that very moment she started running. She ran here and there finding that house from where the sound was coming. Finally, she found that house. The house was burning and can collapse any minute. She knew she had to hurry if she want to save that baby. All houses in the village were made of wood. So, she can easily break inside the house. She kicked the house burning door and went inside. She couldn't see anything because of the smoke. But she kept following the sound. She reached the house kitchen. At the kitchen left were stairs which lead to the room upstairs. She saw the baby and it's mother leaning against the side wall near the kitchen door. She went toward them and saw the baby tightly wrapped around its mother's arms. Unfortunately, the mother has dead. Because of the tight grip she had a little difficulty in taking the baby from it's mother. She looked at the mother sadly. She felt bad for the mother that she lost her life trying to save her baby. She looked around and saw a back door in the kitchen. Before getting out of that place she took one last glance on the mother's body and left.
She ran far from the house and minutes later the house collapsed. She was short of breath,and a little dizzy. She stopped and closed her eyes. Then took a deep breath in and out from her mouth. She looked at the baby, who was now asleep in her arms. It was a baby girl with aqua blue hairs and was looking adorable. _I hope that the smoke hadn't cause much damage to her._ She thought to herself. And started walking. Taking steady steps. After few hours she reached the Demon King mansion. The sky was still dark and starless. And she went straight to backyard of the mansion. Where there are sarvent rooms. She knocked one of the room door.
" Who's there!" A voice came from behind the door. Then someone opened the door and she went inside.
" Oh! What are you doing here?" Said Erin politely. She looked really worried as if she knew that she was going to get trouble." Who is this baby with you." She said worried.
" Listen..... I have a work for you.....You have to keep this baby girl with you in this room. I will come to your room at night to check on her.... And If anyone ask about her tell them she's your cousin." She said.
" What? No I can't.... It's a human baby. If anyone finds out about this I would be in great trouble. " Said Erin.
" No one will find out if you do as I say....." She said." Also give her milk she's hungry....... Take good care of her or else your gonna lose your life." She said looking serious. Erin was scared of her. So she agreed to do whatever she says. After explaining her few things she left.
She went straight to the Demon King's room. And wished that he hadn't woke up. The sun was up and she knew that she had to answer him for her absence. When she entered the room she found Demon King standing Infront of her. He walked few steps towards her. She froze and couldn't breath. She kept staring at him. _I have to control myself. Everything is going to be okay._ She thought with her eyes closed.
" What happened you look worried." Said the Demon King.
" Nothing..." She said. She was calm now. She walked towards him and looked into his eyes than gave him a warm smile with her eyes closed.
" You seem happy." He said.
" I am.... "
" Can I ask the reason."
" Because of you.... Your looking really handsome. "She said.
" Stop flatring and answer me where you where last night." He said.
" I won't lie to you..... I couldn't sleep last night so I went outside. " She said carelessly.
" Outside... Where? "
" Can we talk later about this.... I'm feeling sleepy. " She said and yawned with her hand over her mouth.
" Good night... " She said and went towards the bed. She fall asleep instantly. The Demon King was surprised to see her went to bed instead of her couch. But he ignored her. _It's morning. And she is saying good night._ He thought. And left the room.
At Night, she went to Erin room. She was really glad to see that the baby was okay and she started playing with her.
" Did you had any trouble." She asked Erin.
" She didn't bother me at all...... She seem to have a clam nature." Said Erin smiling.
" Oh! Is that so..... Well! She's such a good girl." She said and tickled her belly. She laughed with the most cutest sound. Erin felt herself attached to her. She like her a lot. Even though she was a human baby.
" Can you tell me her name?....." Asked Erin.
" Her name.... " _I don't know her name._ she thought. " Lets nickname her Rubi. Because she had lovely pink eyes. " She said and smiled. Rubi smiled back.
" Rubi.... It sounds nice." Said Erin.
She left the place as soon as Rubi fall asleep and went to her room to sleep. When she entered the room she found Demon King sleeping. So she went to her couch and slept with a smile on her lips. The next morning, she woke up late and went to take a bath. The Demon King had left as usual. And after changing she went to the throne room but didn't find anyone. The throne room was empty. She shrugged and left. She went to the mansion kitchen. And saw the maids working just except for few which were playing with Rubi thinking her as Erin's cousin. Erin saw her and walked towards her.
" Your Okay with the other maids playing with Rubi." Asked Erin.
" Yes. Of course..... It's not like they can find out if she's a human or not. " She said.
" Yes indeed..... Your trick to make her scent like demons worked. "
" Take care of her.... I might be going now." She said and left.
At After noon, she went inside her room to take a little nap. But found Demon King standing at the room center. She smiled at him and walked few steps towards him. But the Demon King wasn't in a good mood. So she decided not to have any conversation. She went to her couch to take a nap. She sat on her couch and looked at the Demon King. Who walked towards her and sat on the couch Infront of her. She was looking down at the front table. She knew that he's here to ask her some questions.
" How old are you." He said politely.
" I....Well! I'm quite young." She said shyly. " I'm sixteen."
" You are quite young that means.... "
" Can I ask your age. " She said.
" Well! I'm alive for hundreds of years. But if I tell you my Demon age than I'm 21."
" That means I'm five years younger than you." She said and smiled.
" Why do you want to marry so soon. "
_I don't want to marry this early..... I know I have told him that I want to marry him but not this soon. I wish he don't ask me to marry him._ she thought.
" Well! I'm not in that much of a hurry." She said.
" Is that so...." He said. And stood up. As he was about to leave he stopped and turned towards her.
" What was his name?" He asked.
" Who..."
" The boy with who you went away with."
" I don't know... " She said. Confused. " I asked him but he didn't told me. "
" Do you know him?"
" That was the first time we met." She said. And with that the Demon King left the room.
_I think. He's jealous.... How lovely! Finally he is falling for me.... Or maybe he is already in love with me._ She thought and started giggling.
At Night, she was again at Erin room. Rubi was asleep and she was playing with her hairs. She was smiling at her warmly like as if she was her mother.
" I think you love childrens." Said Erin.
" I do... I do love childrens a lot." She said.
" Can I ask you something?..... "
" What?..... "
"...... Who is her mother? And where is she from? " Asked Erin.
When she heard Erin ask about Rubi's mother she saw a flash of Rubi's dead mother and how she had died in that burning house.
" She's dead." She said in a low voice.
" What?" Said Erin, shocked. They both were silent. " Did she not miss her mother? " Asked Erin, sadly.
" I don't know.... " She said. " I might be going now. " She said and stood up.
While she was walking back to the mansion she looked up at the sky. At the snow flakes which were falling on her. A flake drop on her nose tip. She smiled and started walking again.
The Next Morning, She was in the kitchen along with Erin and Rubi in her arms. They were talking about something. Erin was asking her that if she can feed Rubi something else instead of milk.
" She's too young to eat something. She had only two to three teeth's so it's better if you only gave her milk." She said.
" Okay.... " Said Erin. As they were talking she heard foot steps from behind. She told Erin to leave and turned to find Thomas standing infront of her.
" Thomas!... Long time no see." She said with a broken smile.
" Yes... I was busy." He said. He moved few steps towards her. She realized the closeness and moved few steps backward. Thomas came close to her again and she moved back. She can see in his eyes that he is not having any good intensions.
" Why are you here?" She said rudely.
" I just missed you. "
" Stop lying.... If Demon King finds out about your intensions you will get in great trouble." She said angrily.
" Seriously..... " He said and laughed. Just as he was about to touch her she kicked him hard at his right kidney and ran away. She stopped at the kitchen door and turned.
"I'm going to tell everything to Demon King. And also make sure that he kills you." She said. And ran towards the throne room. Thomas followed her. Shouting to stop. But she ignored him. They were running like childrens chasing each other in the mansion. She enjoyed annoying Thomas. Thomas was scared that she would tell Demon King everything. He didn't had any bad intensions but he just want her to be scared of him and to run away from they mansion. But he fall into his own trap. He was so mad at her that he wish to kill her. She reached the throne room and opened it's door in a hurry. She stood infront of the Demon King. Who was sitting on his thrown. Not surprised to see her.
" Demon King.... I want to tell you something about Thomas." She said. Then suddenly, Thomas came from behind and covered her mouth with his hand. He twisted her one arm to her back with his other hand. She was cought off guard. Thomas was so mad at her that he didn't even realize Demon King's presence.
" What are you doing? " Shouted the Demon King in anger. Thomas finally got into his sense and left go of her. She was really mad at him. _How dare he even touch me._ she thought to herself.
" KILL HIM !" She said in anger. " I want him dead."
" Are you in your senses." Said Thomas.
" Demon King! What are you waiting for kill him...... Kill that idiot, Now. " She said. The Demon King just stood and stared at her.
" I'm not doing that .... " He said.
" But why.... Why can't you kill him. " She said. The Demon King was silent. So was Thomas who was looking down at the carpet. He looked worried. _I'm going to make your life miserable, Thomas._ she thought and left the throne room angryly.
As she was walking away from the throne room. She stopped. Then she turned and went back to the throne room door. She gently placed her ear on the door trying to hear the conversation between Thomas and the Demon King. But the room happen to be sound proof so she can't hear anything. Then, she hear foot steps from her right. She moved back from the door and turned to see Alex who was coming her way. She thought of the burned village when she saw him. How he had killed everyone there. But she didn't express anything. She smiled and He smiled back.
" What are you doing here." Said Alex.
" Nothing...." She said.
" So your a human... Right. " He said.
" What?Who told you that..... Let me guess. Thomas!" She said.
" Yes ! He did.... " He said with a smile.
" He's an idiot.... "
" Oh! Did you just called Thomas an idiot."
" Yes I did. "
" I think you don't like Thomas much. Don't you. "
" I don't want to talk about that idiot..... " She said. Alex kept smiling at her.
_No one has ever dared to call Thomas an idiot. She might be unaware of his importance._ Thought Alex.
" I don't think your much awared of Thomas."
" I Know! Thomas is not like other demons. He had special importance in this mansion. But I don't freaking care."
" They say.... Thomas had been with the Demon King from his childhood..... And Demon King trust him a lot. No one dares to disrespect him."
_So that's the reason he didn't killed him._ she thought.
" Well! I might be going... Nice meeting you." He said and left. After that she also went to her room.
At Night, she was sitting on her couch, lights were off and windows was closed. Outside, the wind was blowing hard. And was making little sounds when it smash's at the window. She was thinking about Thomas.
_That idiot!..... I know what he's up to. He wants me to stay away from the Demon King. How foolish of him to think that I will leave him now, when he is finally falling for me....... But Thomas is a big trouble. I have to find a way to get rid of him........ Also, I would get in great trouble if he finds about Rubi......... Well! Eventhought if Thomas doesn't finds about Rubi. I still have to think of something. She can't stay among demons. It's dangerous and risky._ She thought. She was really worried about Rubi.Then suddenly, she heard a sound from behind, someone jumped at the bellcony. She looked at the window and heard foot steps then a shadow appeared from behind the window.
" It can't be. " She said worried.
