For the purpose of this chapter, we're gonna pretend that the Yule Ball is an annual Christmas event for Hogwarts, unrelated to the Tri-Wizard tournament.
As Christmas nears, so does the excitement surrounding the ball. Emery, Avery, and Isla all make a trip to Hogsmeade to find dresses for the event.
After what felt like hours of searching, Emery is the last to find the perfect gown to wear. The mesmerizing midnight black gown exudes an air of sophistication and elegance. The dress, fashioned from satin, faultlessly traces her curves, capturing both the grace and charm she held. The gown is designed with a daring thigh-high slit that starts subtly at the bottom, drawing the eye upward, creating a captivating silhouette as it reveals a glimpse of her leg with each movement.
Delicate crisscrossing straps accentuate Emery's décolletage and back, while the gentle sweetheart neckline adds elegance without overshadowing the gown's enchanting simplicity. The beautiful shimmer further enhanced its beauty in a way that made it hard to take one's eyes off of it.
"Oh my Gods, you look stunning!" Avery exclaimed upon Emery's exit from the dressing room.
"And that dress suits you perfectly," chimed Isla.
"You really think so?" Emery asks, twirling around and examining herself in the mirror, smiling to herself.
"Draco won't know what hit him when he sees you," Avery winked while smirking, prompting laughter from Emery and Isla. Emery just hopes she's right.

As the much-awaited ball commenced, the halls buzzed in anticipation. Emery, Avery, and Isla planned to meet their dates outside the entrance of the Great Hall. Amidst laughter and shared moments, walking alongside her friends, Emery cherished their presence, already aware of how much she'd miss these times during the break.
Draco's captivating appearance draws Emery in effortlessly as his gaze locks onto her, a look of sheer passion reflected in his widened eyes. As she stands before him, equally spellbound by his aura, it's hard not to be entranced by his magnetic presence.
Draped in a sleek, flawlessly fitted black suit, every seam and fold seemed tailor-made to highlight his form. The wool fabric of his suit molds itself seamlessly around his physique, emphasizing his stature with an air of utmost sophistication and refinement. Sharp lapels and perfectly creased trousers mirror his composed demeanor, adding a touch of suave elegance to his overall ensemble. "Gods he looks perfect," Emery's thoughts scream.
"Beautiful," he murmurs, his voice resonating with longing, as he beholds Emery's presence.
"You look quite dashing yourself," Emery replies, a blush tinting her cheeks.
Extending his hand towards her, Draco asks with a beautiful smile, "Shall we?"
-
The night unfolds like a dream, surpassing Emery's expectations. Draco proved to be a gentleman, gliding elegantly on the dance floor. It felt surreal how seamlessly everything was going, but deep down, Emery knew such perfection couldn't last. She knew it never did.
"Tonight feels magical," Emery whispers, enveloped in Draco's embrace as they both sway to a slow melody. Nestled against his chest, Emery's cheek finds solace, while her hands encircle his neck. The scent of his citrus cologne fills her senses, captivating her with its glamour.
His lips press gently against her forehead. "It's perfect—You're perfect."
With a smile, Emery's eyes flutter shut, yearning for this moment to last indefinitely. But all good things eventually end. The music fades, interrupted by a call for Draco from behind. The two-part, turning to face the interruption. "Hey, mate, a moment?" Blaise beckons, accompanied by another boy, Adrian Pucey, a familiar face from Slytherin.
