**SMUT WARNING**

Lying in bed, Emery ponders the bewildering turn of events, having experienced two sets of lips on her body in a single day. "What is happening?" she murmurs, burying her face in her hands, hoping sleep will grant her clarity.

-

Days later, Emery finds herself still actively avoiding Draco, fed up with his games. If he wants something from her, he can come out and say it. Emery becomes more engaged with Theo, who has become increasingly flirty since their unexpected kiss. No one in their group notices, since that's really just Theo's personality.

Unbeknownst to Emery, Draco does notice, and his irritation only grows as he witnesses the two's growing connection while Emery ignores him. That just isn't going to work for him.

-

Dinner time arrives and Emery enters the Great Hall alone. She sees Draco sitting alone at the table. She slides into the seat across from him, not bothering to spare a glance in his direction. She begins to grab food when she hears him clear his throat and say "Good evening."

Without looking at him, she greets him back. "Evening," she says stiffly. Beginning to eat, she still feels his stare on her. After minutes go by, she grows annoyed. "Will you stop looking at me!"

Satisfied with her reaction and attention, he snickers. "You know, you sure are cute when you're mad."

Emery rolls her eyes, looking down at her food to hide the light blush on her cheeks, but with her hair tied back, it doesn't work. She wonders if the rest of the group will show up before she embarrasse herself further. "I'm cute all of the time, thank you very much." She attempts to mask her nervousness with confidence, hoping Draco can't see her bluff.

"I can agree with that," Draco retorts, nodding. But then adds, "though, I'd take it a bit further and say you're even quite adorable." He reaches over the table and pinches Emery's cheek. She slaps his hand away, rolling her eyes once more. The more time she spends with him, the more she thinks her eyes are gonna stay at the top of her head from constantly rolling them.

"You're so annoying. Go bother someone else." Emery continues eating, nearly halfway done with her meal. The faster she eats, the faster she can leave this awkward exchange.

"But why would I do that when I can bug you?" he grins with his head tilted, enjoying her frustration.

"Where is everyone?" Emery inquires, changing the subject, yearning for her friends to come save her.

"Blaise and Theo got detention for not finishing their homework from McGonagall. The woman hates Slytherins." He takes a bite of his green apple, savoring the sour, sweet taste.

Emery frowns, watching as he chews the part of the apple in his mouth. He jaw tenses as he swallows it. Emery gulps. "Well, that doesn't explain why Avery's not here." Avery's never late for dinner if she could help it. Just like Emery, dinner time is her favorite part of the day. Missing half of dinner just isn't like her.

"Y'know, I've been seeing her hanging around that Ravenclaw of yours and her friend Carmichael," he informs, shaking the hand that held the apple.

Emery's face contorts in confusion. "Eddie Carmichael? And Isla and Avery? The only time they see each other is when they're with me though."

Draco shrugs. "Just reporting my findings."

"Well, your findings suck," Emery teases, matter of factly.

"My apologies. I've been focusing on... More important things," he responds, sending her a wink. Sometimes when he looked at her, it made Emery feel like they were the only people in the room. This? This was definitely one of those times.
