Loving My Player

Chapter 2

After the game, Lacy invited me to go out with her and her friends. I thought that they would be girls but they weren't. They were friggin hockey players. I literally couldn't believe it. I have idolised some of these players for so long and now I'm sat in a bar with them. I was talking to Sidney Crosby, kinda fangirling inside because, well he's Sidney Crosby. It was Crosby, Letang and I sat on a table when a teenage girl came running over. I thought that she would want a photo with the boys but I was wrong.

"Oh my god. Hi, um, you're Hayley West right?" She asked making me nod, both boys looked confused. "Ok, wow. Um, I was at the Miss Diamond pageant when you won. This is really embarrassing but please can I have my photo with you?" She then asked.

"Of course you can." I laughed. Kris and Sidney still had no idea what was going on. I stood next to the girl and her friend took the photo.

"How many titles have you won?" She asked.

"I'm not too sure. I've won a few I know that. I'll have to go and count my sashes." I replied making her laugh. I sat back down and she walked off. "Sorry about that." I muttered at the shocked boys.

"Pageant queen? Wow." Kris spoke making me blush. "How long have you been doing them for?" I shrugged and looked at my phone.

"Ok, I have a photoshoot tomorrow. I really have to go." I announced as I looked for Lacy.

"How'd you get here?" Sidney asked.

"Lacy." He nodded and helped me look for her. She was speaking with a few of the players. "I would offer you a lift home but I've had too much to drink."

"It's fine, I'll catch a cab or something." I hugged him before Kris stood up.

"I'll take you home. I haven't had a drink and I'm thinking of going back soon." I thanked him before we both made our way outside to be greeted with a lot of paparazzi. Kris and I walked to his car, paparazzi following, before getting in and driving off quickly. It wasn't a long drive to my house which I was thankful for as Kris wasn't really saying much. I directed him to my house and when he pulled up, he insisted of getting out and walking me to my door. "Can I possibly get your number?" He asked as he played with his keys.

"Sure thing." I put my number in his phone and saw that he saved my number as 'BeautyQueen' which made me playfully roll my eyes. "Really?" I asked making him nod. As we said goodbye, he quickly gave me a kiss on the cheek before going back to his car. I went into my house and shortly collapsed onto the bed because of how tired I was.
The next morning was pretty hectic. Once I was up, I got dressed into my white top and my blue skinny jeans before putting on my white converse and doing my hair and make up. I got into my car and quickly drove to the studio. As soon as I got there I had a cup of coffee handed to me along with a magazine. I went to sit down before reading the magazine. On the front cover was a picture of Kris Letang and I leaving last night. I started reading the article which angered me slightly.

'Local beauty queen Hayley West, 23, was seen leaving Applebee's last night with Pittsburgh Penguins defence Kris Letang, 28. After just coming out of her long term relationship with boyfriend Drew Hazelton, it appears that Hayley has moved on very quickly. In a recent interview, Hayley announced that she wasn't looking for love and that it would take a while for her to move on from the split. However, after leaving with Letang last night, it gives us an impression that she is looking for higher fame than her own.'

Looking for higher fame? I didn't want any fame. I wasn't dating Kris and it would be a while before I got into another relationship. As soon as I put the magazine down I saw that I had a text.

'Hayley, it's Kris. My agent wants to meet up with you to discuss the whole situation with the media. I hope it hasn't effected you too much, I don't understand why they were being harsh. Anyway, I'll speak with my agent and we'll set up an interview with our media crew.' - Letang:).
