Katsuki is out shopping, a couple of grocery bags hanging from his arm. Today, he's going to make katsudon for Deku, since his adorable husband got a promotion at his job. He walks down the road, thinking about all the other stuff he could do to celebrate, though stops when he smells something.

Right in front of him is the Ramen place that Deku took him to. The door is open, letting the smells of food waft out into the street. A damn good tactic to get customers. But today isn't the day, so he continues to walk. That is until someone calls out to him from inside.

"Sir, hold on!"

He turns around and sees a big guy standing at the doorway of the shop wearing a chef's uniform. The man looks slightly distressed, and when Bakugou stops, he looks sort of hopeful.

"You sir, you're the guy from the other day! I heard from your husband that you're a good cook, and I was wondering if you could help out with the shop today? We're short on people and it's just me, and the lunchtime rush is about to start. You'd get paid of course! What do you say?"

Katsuki wouldn't be surprised if Deku just went around talking about him to every little extra that crossed his path. The smell of the shop entices him yet again, wafting all around him. He has time, Deku won't be home until later, and the katsudon doesn't take that long...

Besides, he's being paid, so it's not like it's a big fucking deal...

'If I don't make a profit today, then I'll have to start taking out loans again, and if that doesn't help, I can end up losing the place... Please, please say you will help.'

God damn it. He is reminded yet again why reading minds can be such a pain in the ass. If Deku found out that he didn't help this guy out, then he'll be in deep shit, and he would be forced to say goodbye to the shop with the best spicy ramen he's ever had.

"Only this one fucking time!"

The man looks even more delighted, and before Katsuki knows it, he's rushed inside, his groceries are taken and put into a cooler, and he is handed a crisp white uniform and black apron.

"Thank you so much! I promise that you won't regret helping me!"

He goes to the shops bathroom to change into his temporary uniform while the chef starts to prep some stuff. He only gets that one moment of silence after getting changed when people start coming in. Leaving the door open really seems to help attract people over.

He is briefly shown the ropes, and quickly gets the hang of it, the two of them racing back and forth between the kitchen and the customers, taking orders, serving, and making food. The steam from the kitchen warms him up, only pumping him up more.

Maybe this won't just be a onetime thing.
