You went to a party with your friends, Grace and Jackie. While you were driving, Grace kept on trying to persuade Jackie to confess her feelings to her crush, Alex. Jackie on the other hand didn't want to make things awkward between Alex and her since she lives at the Walters ranch now,

"No, but see, you definitely should! I've heard some rumors about Kiley wanting to make some moves on Alex today at the party,"

"But what if he doesn't feel the same way."

"What do you think y/n, out of the three of us, you know the Walters the best, isn't it obvious that Alex likes Jackie too?" Grace said.

"Well it wouldn't hurt to let him know how you feel, besides, it's Alex, he's the sweetest." you responded as you pulled up to the driveway, "we're here."

A couple of hours go by, you haven't seen Grace and Jackie since you arrived at the party, and since then you have been hanging out with your boyfriend Cole. The two of you were now sitting by the backyard pool with Dylan and Olivia, playing 'truth or dare', just as it was about to be your turn, you happened to notice Grace and Jackie storming towards the car, "I'll be right back" you said slightly worried as you stood up and quickly made your way towards your friends.

"Hey- are you okay?" you ask Jackie who is holding back tears.

"She walked in on Kiley and Alex making out in the bathroom." Grace replied "It was a stupid party anyway, let's just go." she added.

Since you were their ride home, you were gonna leave with them. "I'll be right back. I'm just gonna tell Cole we're leaving." the girls nodded.

You had walked back towards the backyard when you stopped in your tracks when you overheard Cole talking to Dylan about how clingy you were. your heart was pounding in your chest, you never thought he would find it annoying how much time you spent by his side. you had decided to just leave without saying anything, just to give him his space.

when you got in the car with the girls, they all immediately noticed how upset you were and asked. You told them about what you heard and they all comforted you.

"Boys suck," Jackie said with a mouthful of ice cream, you and she had stayed up comforting each other on the front porch when Alex pulled up into your driveway. You walked inside your home to let Jackie and Alex talk things out.

Once inside, you grabbed your phone and noticed the 3 missed calls and 5 messages from Cole.

"why did you leave?"

"Are you okay?"

"do you want me to come over?"

"Please pick up!"

"Hello?!"

you sighed and called him back. Cole instantly picked up, "Hey, is everything okay? You left without saying goodbye." you closed your eyes and took a deep breath before answering, "Yeah... um... everything is fine. don't worry. Jackie just wanted to leave and it flew by to tell you."

you heard him sigh in relief, "Oh okay. Do you want me to come over?" you shook your head although he couldn't see, "No. it's fine. I'll see you tomorrow." Cole let out another sigh, "Oh. cool. I'll talk to you tomorrow." you said goodbye before hanging up.

you wanted to tell him but decided not to. instead, you were just gonna give him space and you did. the next week you had a ton of excuses to not be able to hang out or to leave early. Cole had been confused, to say the least, but also annoyed at your behavior.

Jackie and you were talking at the bonfire when Cole started to come over but you stood up, "I'm gonna go to the bathroom real quick." but before you could get out of there, Cole grabbed your arm and pulled you aside, "nope, not today." you quickly began protesting but it was no use.

"what is going on? you've been avoiding me like crazy. you either can't hang out or you have to leave early cause of some lame excuse. talk to me." you sighed, "Nothing is going on. I've just been busy. I'm not gonna spend every second with you, okay? now stop being clingy."

your hand instantly flew to your mouth as you realized what you said. Cole's eyes widen, "what? I'm clingy?" you shook your head, "No, that's not what I meant." you let out a groan as you sat on some tree trunk. he sat next to you and grabbed your hand, "Talk to me, please."

"I heard you talking to Dylan about how clingy I am. so I wanted to give you space. I'm sorry." his eyes softened at your confession, "You are clingy but I don't mind. I love how much time we spend together. sometimes I wish we could spend even more."

you looked up at him, "really?" he smiled as he pulled your face closer to his, "Yes, really." he pressed your lips together and you instantly melted into the kiss and wrapped your hands around his neck. all this time you had been wrong, he didn't find you annoying.

"god, will you two get a room?" you both pulled away and looked up at the person in front of you, Alex. Cole chuckled, "We don't complain when you're with Jackie." as if her name summoned her, Jackie appeared, now standing next to Alex, laughing while holding onto his hand, "I'm so glad you two finally made up."
