"Thank you, girls, for coming to run errands with me today, I appreciate the company."

"Of course Mom, you know I never turn down some quality time with you, especially when it involves food." your sister, Jackie says.

"Yeah, I'm just here for the free lunch... And I guess the company is nice too," you add.

Your mom roped Jackie and you into running errands all day in preparation for your family's homecoming huddle cart, you didn't mind coming along, it was nice having some girl time. It was also an unspoken rule that when you help with errands, you get lunch, and you were never one to turn down a free meal. So now you were parked outside the store so your mom could go buy some quick last-minute stuff.

"I promise I'll be in and out and then we can go get lunch."

"I'm coming in with you mom, there's a book I wanna see if they have."

"Oh okay, you coming in too Y/n?"

"No thanks, I'll stay in the car and wait for you two."

"Sounds good, we'll be right back."

Your mom and Jackie climb out of the driver and passenger sides and head into the store. You stretch out on the backseat, getting comfortable, and scrolling through random tiktoks on your phone, you're in a trance until the back door opens, you tilt your head back to see who's bothering you. There stands Cole Walter, one hand on the roof, one on the car door frame, leaning towards you.

"What do I gotta do to get you to come inside?" He says with a smirk on his lips, his tone being highly suggestive.

"How about you come in here?" you lift your head up and he slides into the seat closing the door behind him. You reposition your head on his lap and go back to watching TikToks.

You find yourself rewatching the same video over and over again because it's hard to focus with Cole watching you so intently. His hair is falling into his face and his blue eyes are light today, instead of their normal cloudy shade. He seems happier today, lighter. You can't take it anymore and lean up to give him a quick peck, and then go back to your phone. A smile breaks out on his face.

Cole pushes your phone down onto your chest and leans to kiss you again. You let your phone fall from your hands and bring them up around his neck to pull him closer. Your lips move in a familiar sync, something you've done many times before.

You pull away and lay your head back down in his lap, "So what are you doing here?"

"Will asked me to pick up some things for the cider cart, and I saw your mom inside and she told me you were out here."

"Did you get all the stuff you needed?"

"I did, although it was still difficult to leave your bed this morning."

"Well, then I guess you're just gonna have to get back in it again tonight."

"I like the sound of that," His hand reaches out to touch your hair, trails down the side of your face, and land on your neck. He smiles sweetly at you before he kisses you again. "Alright I have to go, dad gave me a few chores around the house today."

"Okay, see you back at my place?"

"Can't wait," Cole replies as he opens the car door and climbs out.

"Do I even wanna know what was happening back there?" Both of your heads turn to find your mom and Jackie walking back toward the car. You feel the blush creeping into your cheeks and bashfully smile.

"Don't worry Y/m/n, I kept it all very G-rated."

"Yeah, sure you did Cole,"

"Bye ladies, enjoy lunch." He leans forward and presses one last kiss to your lips, he closes the car door, and waves goodbye.

"Ugh, you guys are so sickeningly cute. It disgusts me."While Jackie's words may be mean, her tone is the opposite.

"Gee thanks, Jackie." you laugh.

"It's nice seeing you two together, you really compliment each other."

"Thanks, Mom."

She smiles back at you through the rearview mirror, "So how does The Lark sound for lunch?"

"Amazing, I might kill somebody for one of those pastries," Jackie says
