In the north where the sea was the deepest, there was one of the most beautiful cities of country Tao. Though the city was glamorous and alluring, people did not know about it.

After all, no one could have imagined that there would be a city hidden underwater. It was home to none other than the mermaids of the Mer clan.

The city was protected by a shield that isolated and protected it from the prying eyes of other creatures.

Inside one of the most luxurious rooms of the Mer clan, a man was sleeping. It was none other than Wei Ying.

After hours of sleeping Wei Ying finally started to gain consciousness.

"I told you to be careful and not displease him. Why did you forcefully bring him here? What if he gets angry?"

"We had no other choice. They were about to finish their journey and we still hadn't found any opportunity to talk to him. When he fell, we thought it was our last chance so we brought him here."

"Stop making excuses. If he refuses to help because of you two then don't blame me for punishing you."

"Hmph...Wasn't it you who told us to bring him no matter what the circumstance? Now you're blaming us?"

"I told to...."

"Stop bickering. Instead of fighting and blaming each other why don't you think about how to apologize to him."

Loud voices were heard from outside the door of the room where Wei Ying was sleeping. He was still groggy so he couldn't properly hear what they were saying.

When Wei Ying tried to get up when he stumbled. The noise stopped the voices outside the room.

The voices started to whisper before the footsteps of people leaving were heard. Only the presence of one man remained outside.

Soon the door was opened and a man entered. The man was neither short nor tall but he still had an imposing aura. Contradictory to his aura, he had a softer face that could deceive people into believing that he was harmless.

"You're awake, immortal." Wei Ying was still a little woozy that he did not hear the man.

The man tries to help Wei Ying sit back but Wei Ying refuses his help.  Knowing what they had done was unacceptable, the man did not try any further and waited till Wei Ying was seated.

"It's not poisoned. It will help clear your mind." The man says giving Wei Ying a drink.

Wei Ying suspiciously stares at the smiling man before taking the cup. He sniffs the cup before drinking it. The drink truly worked and soon his mind started to clear.

"Where is this place?" Wei Ying questions.

The man smiles, "We are in Mer city."

"Mer city? Where's that?"

"Inside the Long Sea."

"Inside the sea. Wait.. what!?"

"What do you mean inside the sea?"

"It's an underwater city home to the Mer clan."

"By mer clan, do you mean mermaids? Why don't you have tails then? This room is dry too and there is no water? How are you breathing then?"

"Us merpeople have the ability to transform in water. Our legs turn into fish-like tails and gills form which helps us swim and breathe underwater. As time went on and some of us were discovered, people started to call us mermaids and mermen."

Who would have thought that Wei Ying would be kidnapped by mer people whom he was hoping to meet? I guess you need to wish thoughtfully or it might cause trouble.

"Ah.. right. Why did you bring me here? What about my companions? Where are they?"

"Apologies immortal. It was not our intention to harm you. We just want to have an audience with you."

"So you kidnapped me instead of talking it out."Wei Ying scoffs, rolling his eyes. "And why are you calling me immortal? I'm no immortal."

At first, the man was guilty but soon he was filled with confusion. "Doesn’t lord know that he has attained immortality?"

"Me? Immortal? I'm not. You must have been confused."

"That's not possible. The 'Eye of Long' definitely reacted to your presence. If you were not an immortal, it would not have reacted."

Wei Ying started to frown listening to the man talking. How is it possible for him to attain immortality and not even know?

"Immortal or not. I don't care. I'm leaving and if any of you try to stop me then get ready to fight. Lan Zhan must be worried about me I don’t have time to waste on your story." Wei Ying gets up ready to leave.

"Immortal. Wait. Please help us." The man says blocking Wei Ying.

"I beg you, immortal. If it wasn't for the urgency of this matter, we wouldn't have disturbed you. As for your companion, we shall send our people to bring them here." Then the  man desperately begs Wei Ying

"Listen here. I don't know you nor do  I believe you. I told you already I'm no immortal so let me go. Plus even if I was an immortal like you said why should I help you." Wei Ying pushes the man aside.

"If you help us, we will give you the 'Ocean's heart'." A deep authoritative voice says from outside the door. There stood an old man in black and silver robes.

"Elder Hwa"

"I don't need anything, just let me go already." Wei Ying says irritated with the situation.

"Xiu, let me talk to him. You go out."  Elder Hwa says to the man who was trying to stop Wei Ying.

Xiu then leaves the room leaving Elder Hwa and Wei Ying.

"I apologize for my and our clan's disciples. We are just stressed with our clan's problems."

Wei Ying could feel that the elder was sincere so did not he lash out again even though he was irritated.

"It's ok "

Silence filled the room before the elder spoke, "If you don't mind shall we have a small talk? I think you have some doubts that you want to clear up."

Wei Ying hesitates. He indeed wants to clear up his doubts and understand what's going on. But knowing that Lan Zhan would be worried about him, he is not willing to waste his time.

"If you are worried about your companion, I have already sent my people to bring them here. By the time I finish telling you about the problem, they will already be here. If you leave now you might just miss each other." The elder says seeing Wei Ying hesitating.

Wei Ying thinks for a while before nodding. They go to the side room where Elder Hwa starts to tell him about their circumstances.
